Procter Sliding Gates Open Up a Wider Choice

Procter Sliding Entrance Gates is launching a new range of cantilevered and tracked sliding gates that will give architects and specifiers an exceptionally broad choice of options to suit an almost unlimited variety of commercial, industrial and public sector applications.

Procter Sliding Gates

This comprehensive and competitively priced range comprises the Series 10, Series 20 and Series 30 Pro-glide cantilevered and tracked sliding gates. Complete customisation is available within the same timescale and cost structure. Single-leaf cantilevered gates can be manufactured up to 8m wide and single-leaf tracked gates up to 16m wide; bi-parting double-leaf gates can be manufactured for openings up to 16m and 32m wide, respectively.

In essence the Series 10 Pro-glide and Series 20 Pro-glide gates are standard products with a choice of options, though customers are free to specify any height and width. In reality, each gate is effectively bespoke because there are so many variables – such as infill material, finish, security features, automation, access controls and the option of a personnel access gate. For applications where complete customisation is desired, the Series 30 Pro-glide gates give architects and specifiers even greater freedom.

Both the cantilevered and tracked versions of all three series share the same high-quality operating mechanism for smooth, low-noise opening and closing, as well as a long, low-maintenance lifetime. Gate leaves and support structures are galvanised to resist corrosion, and a tough polyester powder coating is usually applied on top of the galvanising to enhance the appearance. The difference between the three series of gates is therefore down to additional features, aesthetics and the degree of customisation.

Series 10 Pro-glide gates use robust hollow sections for the steel gate frame and guide posts. While the guide post frame is infilled with heavy-duty welded wire mesh and sheet metal panels (with an option here for customer branding), the gate leaf infill may be heavy-duty welded mesh, palisade or vertical bars. Safety features include photocells, safe edges and warning lights, and the operator control panel is inset for protection from the elements. A further option is a hinged access gate for personnel, designed and manufactured to match the sliding gate.

Series 20 Pro-glide gates are enhanced by attractive styling and a distinctive chevron detail at the top of the guide posts. Specifications are otherwise as for the Series 10 but, in addition, there is a profiled fascia with an integral warning light and motor cover, an illuminated operator control panel, and further opportunities for customer branding between the guide posts and on the panel at the gate's leading edge.

Series 30 Pro-glide gates allow for complete customisation in terms of aesthetics. For example, architects can specify design details that echo architectural features on the building to which the gate gives access, and there is greater scope for adding branding to the gate and guide posts. Technical specifications are generally the same as for the Series 20, but these can be enhanced to suit the project requirements.

All Procter powered sliding gates are CE marked in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC that came into force on 29th December 2009. They are also designed and manufactured in the UK under an ISO 9001 quality management system. All of the company's gates can be integrated within a site's existing access control system.

Procter Sliding Entrance Gates provides a comprehensive service that includes a site survey, design, manufacture, delivery, installation and servicing. Gates are delivered to site pre-assembled so that, in most cases, installation on pre-prepared bases can be completed in one working day, thereby keeping disruption to an absolute minimum. Installation teams are fully trained and accredited by organisations and schemes such as CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Scheme), Construction Line and Safe Contractor. If required, the Procter Fencing Systems division of the same company can supply perimeter fencing and hinged gates to complement the Pro-glide sliding gates.

Literature for the Series 10, Series 20 and Series 30 Pro-glide sliding gates is available free of charge on request or it can be downloaded from the company's website at http://www.slidingentrancegates.co.uk
