John Newton Membranes Upgrades Grade I Listed Structure
The company complete another Historic project when renewing the waterproofing system for the tunnels of the Reform Club in central London.
This Grade I listed structure located in Central London had two large tunnel areas which needed to be upgraded to house all new plant gear which was moved from the main building to gain space. The tunnels were originally lined with John Newton Membranes Newtonite Lath some 50 years previously and although it was still effective, it needed to be removed so services could be installed.
Allenbuild Ltd, the main contractor, employed the services of NSBC Contractor Stonehouse Basements to design and install a modern day water management system to protect the new internal environment within the existing tunnels.
The Newtonite Lath was removed and Newton 508 Mesh was professionally installed to the vaulted areas secured with the Newton MultiPlug in preparation for a rendered finish to be applied. As a means of evacuating potential ingress from the structure, the Basedrain was deployed at wall floor junction terminating at the Newton Titan Pumping System.
The upgraded water management solution meant the client was able to house state of the art plant equipment in a clean and dry environment.
The client and main contractor benefited from the high quality installation and design from Stonehouse Basements, who could offer piece of mind of an insured backed guarantee on the works.
