Heald Shallow Mount HT1 Raptor Passes Test
Heald has announced a totally new concept in anti-terrorist road blocking solutions. The PAS68 tested HT1-RAPTOR has been designed to guard against the highest level of vehicular threat. It can be raised and lowered to allow or prevent vehicles from passing through.
The RAPTOR has been designed specifically for use where a shallow mount barrier is required, for example, the avoidance of underground services.
Standing at a height of 985mm, the unit is 380mm wide x 300mm deep and is manufactured from 15mm profiled sheet steel. The unique design of this product gives it immense strength.
Heald's Shallow mount RAPTOR was tested at MIRA. The test was conducted using an empty 18-tonner travelling at 80kph. The RAPTOR successfully arrested the vehicle and conformed to BSI PAS 68: 2010. The blocking element was undamaged after this impact.
Various access controls are available to operate the RAPTOR. It is available with the option of an accumulator and push button for Emergency Fast Operation.
The has a unique design and therefore offers very small footprint, it is very quick and easy to install (usually within one day). Unique features are no pre-casting of pit, no reinforcement of concrete and can be fitted to a minimum of 450mm depth. Only minimal concrete is necessary, enabling fitting to be completed quickly and efficiently.
The HT1-RAPTOR can be fitted as one single unit or multiple units on wider roads.
