Hanse Haus Overcomes Bad Weather for a First in Guernsey
Hanse Haus has started 2011 at a hectic pace with new contracts including its first build on the island of Guernsey.
The build began with strong winds and rain hampering attempts to get materials from the dock to the site, but with the kind of forward planning Hanse Haus has grown famous for, tractors were on hand to successfully manage the deteriorating situation.
Even though materials didn’t reach the site until noon on the first day, through sheer will and determination, the house was constructed and water-tight by the end of the following day!
Property owner Ray Etheridge summed up the efforts: “I have a huge amount of admiration for the Hanse Haus crew. They worked incredibly hard under very adverse conditions to get the house water-tight in what was less than two days. It’s gone up like lightning and I can’t think of a single person from the organisation who hasn’t performed.
“I used to be a builder myself, so I know how hard they’ve worked. There are a lot of local people here who watched the house go up so efficiently and who are now thinking seriously about building their own houses with Hanse Haus.”
The next build on the island is already scheduled for the 5th of April. Other new builds include Elstree, North London, Exeter in Devon and Esher, West London.
Hanse Haus is exhibiting on stand N54 at Ecobuild, ExCel, London, from March 1st - 3rd.
