Press Room: Flats Receive Ultimate Woodcare Protection from Dulux Trade

Flats Receive Ultimate Woodcare Protection from Dulux Trade

When North East property management company, Kingston Property Services, needed to transform the exterior woodwork on five blocks of fully rendered flats, it turned to Dulux Trade for a durable and long lasting finish.

Flats in Fawdon

The blocks of residential flats on the Falstone Walk estate in Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne, received the ultimate in woodcare protection from the experts at Dulux Trade. Already having a strong relationship with Kingston Property Services, preparing all internal and external specifications for the past five years, Specifier Account Manager, Sam Rudd, worked closely with the maintenance company to deliver a bespoke service tailored to the company’s needs.

Mark Smith, at Kingston Property Services, said: “The priority was to maintain the high quality and condition of the woodwork, as well as improve the building’s aesthetics and the kerbside appeal of the flats. Taking this into consideration, Dulux Trade Ultimate Weathershield Opaque Woodstain and Dulux Trade Smooth Masonry paint were applied.”

Ideally suited for exterior joinery, cladding and doors, Dulux Trade Ultimate Weathershield Opaque Woodstain was used to protect the development’s most distinctive features – the timber windows, decorative beams and wooden strapping. The product’s resistance to cracking, flaking and blistering ensures it delivers superior exterior coverage for up to ten years, whilst the high performance satin finish provides outstanding water repellence.

With over 600 colours available in Dulux Trade Ultimate Weathershield Opaque Woodstain, Kingston Property Services worked with the team at Dulux Trade to create colour previews and experiment with the combination of shades on offer to develop specifications that would transform the development.

“With any residential project, the opinions of the residents always count and were a key consideration when selecting from the large variety of shades on offer. We are over the moon with the results and are confident the Dulux Trade products will deliver outstanding woodcare for years to come, both protecting the timber and enhancing the visual appeal of the development.”

To prevent disfiguring surface growth, Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry paint was also used to frame the windows and cover the rendered walls. The special formulation used in the product helps prevent mould growth, providing up to up to 15 years’ optimum protection.
