Dulux Trade Paints Picture of Modern Living for Students

Luxury Student accommodation in Spitalfields, London is given a quality finish from Dulux Trade.
Student life in London has been given a 21st century look with the development of the brand new Nido apartment complex within reach of 12 of the capital’s further education establishments. Dulux Trade products and Contract Partners, Primetone, transformed the accommodation’s peeling paintwork and threadbare carpets into sleek, modern spaces. Each Nido apartment has been painted using Dulux Trade New Work Gloss for the interior woodwork and Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt for the walls and ceilings for a premium quality finish.
The 35 storey building, located in the heart of the fashionable Spitalfields district, will provide accommodation for 1,200 students, as well as a selection of commercial offices, retail units and leisure facilities. Students can choose from a range of purpose-built living spaces, including single and twin studios, twin apartments and 4-6 bed flats, each featuring smart design and high-tech engineering. The building has been constructed to the highest standards and 86 per cent of the waste generated will be recycled as part of Nido’s sustainability agenda.
Interior woodwork has been given a perfect mirror-like appearance using a combination of Dulux Trade New Work Gloss and Undercoat. Specifically formulated for the demanding requirements of new substrates, it offers excellent coverage and opacity for a tough and durable finish. Walls and ceilings have been painted with Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt – a top quality emulsion boasting best in class coverage. It can also spread up to 20 per cent further than competitor formulations.
Kevin Rabbitte, MD of Primetone says: “The NIDO apartments are all about sleek lines and modern living, so the finish had to be perfect in order to complement the clever contemporary design. Dulux Trade paints not only deliver a top quality professional finish, they are also a joy to work with and will keep the apartments looking as good as new despite the high resident turnover.”
