Carey & Fox Boosts Sales with Revolutionary Accoya Wood
Carey & Fox, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of bespoke, handmade timber windows, doors and conservatories, has dramatically increased sales with its best selling range made from eco friendly Accoya® wood.
This revolutionary ‘new species’ of low maintenance, modified wood is widely recognised by architects and specifiers to be one of the most sustainable, durable and thermally efficient materials available.
With its specialist expertise and craftsmanship, Carey & Fox has combined the outstanding performance and environmental benefits of Accoya® wood with the fine detailing and aesthetic appeal of traditional handmade windows and doors in order to give customers the best of all worlds.
Originally developed by Titan Wood, and based upon 80 years of extensive research into wood acetylation modification processes, Accoya® wood has strength, stability, durability and UV resistance, which surpasses other window materials, including even the best tropical hardwoods.
Manufactured using a non-toxic process with timber from certified, sustainable sources, windows and doors made from Accoya® wood are not only 100% non toxic, but do not shrink, warp, twist or crack significantly when exposed to the elements.
This recyclable material is easy to maintain and rot resistant to British standard durability rating Class 1 (very durable), and supported by a sixty service life, ensuring excellent all year round performance even in the toughest of environments.
“Our immense experience and specialist expertise in working with Accoya® wood has enabled us to cost effectively produce some of the highest specification, sustainable and elegantly crafted windows and doors currently on the market,” said David Kitchen, Managing Director of Carey & Fox.
“In fact, Accoya® wood is proving to be so popular, that we have extended its use to include our extensive range of conservatories, orangeries and lantern roofs.”
Accoya® wood is coated with high performance and eco friendly factory applied coatings, offering up to twelve year guarantees and greatly reduced maintenance cycles. Extended coatings guarantees are also available.
All Carey & Fox windows, doors and conservatories come with ‘Low E’ double glazed units, which comply with NHBC, British Standards and Glass & Glazing Federation specifications, supported by full guarantees. A wide range of additional glazing options and hardware is available.
