Ahmarra fire doorsets help council win safety award

Fire doors manufacturer Ahmarra is proud to be associated with a project which has won a prestigious fire safety award for a local council.

The multi-million-pound project involved upgrading the fire safety of Southampton’s high-rise and high-risk flats, including those for the most vulnerable residents in the community.

Southampton City Council partnered with Hampshire Fire and Rescue, as well as specialist contractors like CLC Group, to implement the improvements. Ahmarra, which was sub-contracted by CLC, manufactured and installed the fire doors, riser doors and screens for communal areas, as well as the enhanced security entrance doors for this project.

At the Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2020, this scheme took the Fire Project of the Year award for Southampton City Council.

Ahmarra has worked extensively with leading social housing providers throughout London and the South to replace thousands of fire doorsets in recent years. The company’s range of severe-duty doors for the social housing sector, include enhanced security (SBD/PAS 24) apartment entrance doors, fire doors for communal areas, riser doors and glazed screens.

With BM Trada Q-Mark certification for both manufacture and installation, Ahmarra’s social housing doorsets protect against the threat of fire and smoke, and are available in a range of fire ratings. All doorsets are bespoke manufactured and include a number of facing and finish options.
