Ahmarra achieves Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme accreditation

Ahmarra is proud to announce that it has achieved the bronze level requirements for the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).

The company’s participation in the training and accreditation scheme reflects its commitment to safe working practices, staff development and reducing its environmental impact. The scheme supports Ahmarra staff to develop the skills and knowledge required to become professional drivers by following industry recognised best practice procedures.

Ahmarra’s growing fleet of vehicles are used to deliver its fire doors and transport installers to site projects throughout Hampshire, London and the South East.

This FORS accreditation is a welcome addition to Ahmarra’s already extensive collection of certifications, which cover all aspects of the business.

To maintain these high standards, the company undergoes comprehensive audits and rigorous reviews of its Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality practices and procedures.

This demonstrates to clients that Ahmarra offers a fully certified fire door product with extensive quality and environmental processes in place throughout from initial enquiry, to manufacture and finally now to include delivery to site.

The benefits of using a FORS accredited member include:

  • Safer. Ahmarra has fully invested in staff safety and development, the scheme enables company drivers to increase their road awareness, loading procedures and knowledge of current transport legislation, minimising the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • More efficient. Ahmarra takes every care to minimise the effects its production and transportation processes have on the environment and as such is pleased that the training will enable staff to reduce fuel consumption by applying more efficient driving techniques. This will reduce Ahmarra carbon emissions in line with its environmental policies.
  • More effective. The scheme will enable Ahmarra drivers to deliver a more effective service through better journey planning skills.

To achieve the FORS accreditation, the company had to demonstrate that it met the scheme’s criteria through a strict on-site audit at Ahmarra’s Portsmouth-based manufacturing facility. The process involved providing evidence of systems, procedures and documentation and is reviewed on an annual basis.
