ACO drainage provides hygienic solution for bottled water factory extension
When the Highland Spring Group planned a large factory extension to increase production of its naturally-sourced bottled water, ACO Building Drainage was approached to provide a hygienically-designed drainage system for the bottling plant.
The £16-million factory extension to Highland Spring’s main site at Blackford in Perthshire would enable the company to increase capacity by 50%. Highland Spring was looking for a drainage system that could deliver the optimum in hygienic performance and for a drainage company which could provide the technical advice required to refine the drainage specification with Glasgow-based project engineers, Blythe + Blythe.
ACO Building Drainage’s in-house technical design team finalised the drainage specification and supplied AS301 channel, ladder gratings and a full range of gullies for the project. All products were designed in accordance with ACO’s HygieneFirst philosophy and all were manufactured by ACO from 316 grade stainless steel for optimum corrosion resistance and hygienic performance.
Andy Buchan, Divisional Managing Director of ACO Building Drainage, comments: “Hygienic performance and technical capabilities were the most important criteria for Highland Spring when they were selecting a drainage supplier.
“We design and manufacture high performance products that are designed in accordance with the latest research into hygienic design and cleanability. Our technical team also has a proven track record of designing high performance drainage systems for the food and drink manufacturing sector, and we were delighted to work with such a well-known beverage brand on this project.”
