ACO Building Drainage joins Food and Drink Federation
In a move reflecting its commitment to supporting the food and drinks industry, commercial drainage specialist, ACO Building Drainage, has become a member of the Food & Drink Federation (FDF). The company has also announced that it will be the headline sponsor of the FDF’s Food & Drink Safety Convention being held in One Great George Street, London, on October 4th 2016.
Andy Buchan, Divisional Managing Director of ACO Building Drainage, comments: “We’re delighted to become one of the few supply chain companies to have joined the FDF and to be so warmly welcomed by an organisation which is clearly keen to work with food and drink industry specialists which can help drive ongoing improvements in industry standards.
“The FDF recognises that key manufacturers need to embrace hygienic engineering and we hope our involvement with it will raise awareness for the importance of hygienically engineered drainage systems among Britain’s food and drink manufacturers. We’re also keen to actively support the FDF in its role as the voice of the UK food and drink industry, the largest manufacturing sector in the country.”
Steve Barnes, Commercial and Membership Director of the FDF, said: “We are very pleased to welcome ACO Building Drainage to FDF membership, the first company of its kind to join us. They have recognised that affiliate membership provides unparalleled opportunities to showcase their brand to manufacturers and to keep close to the issues and opportunities for our industry. Food and drink safety and authenticity is a key area for FDF, so a partnership between us and ACO for our convention on 4 October is sure to be a success. We have an excellent line-up of topics and both companies are looking forward to welcoming delegates for the first of what will be an annual event.”
ACO Building Drainage is the first drainage company to incorporate hygienic design principles into commercial drainage and its HygieneFirst range is designed specifically to meet the needs of the food and drink industry.
Its HygieneFirst approach is based on five core principles: Hygiene through design based on leading academic research and global best practice; collaboration with suppliers, industry bodies, end users and leading academics to ensure market-leading in-situ performance; product improvements for optimal health and safety; the delivery of cost management via product ‘cleanability’, and significant investment in ongoing and continued innovation.
