Weber Company Profile

Weber is a leading manufacturer of high specification construction industry products, offering advanced solutions for the façades, construction mortars, flooring systems and tile fixing markets and are part of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s leading Industrial groups. Weber works closely with customers and clients to ensure its systems and products are not only innovative and easy to use but offer guaranteed quality and competitiveness.

Services

Weber provides full technical advice and application support, helping customers and clients to specify the right solution for every project. Weber fully supports the importance of training through in-house programmes and group academies across the UK to ensure correct installation and application every time.

Systems and Products

External Wall Insulation

Weber deliver genuine innovation including External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems which are BBA accredited, Ofgem approved, EST recommended and can be used on all new buildings as well as thermally improving and aesthetically transforming existing solid wall traditional brick, system built non-traditional, low or high rise buildings.

As members of INCA and the NIA, Weber are the only manufacturer to achieve an A+ Green Guide rating for external render – the highest level of sustainability for a construction product.

The revolutionary BBA certificated weber.therm XP EWI system, is a unique, fast application one-coat solution which can be used with most insulant types and achieves excellent fire test performance. This allows safe use in high-rise locations, is impact resistant and offers exceptional levels of weather protection in areas of severe exposure. Excellent U-values of below 0.3 W/m²K can be achieved which contributes to reduced energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Hard to treat? Not with Weber. With a strong background in upgrading social housing stock, Weber EWI systems have been used on most non-traditional property types. Technical advice is available on the most appropriate system for each housing type and on-site inspections are made to ensure that work is completed to specification.

Weber EWI systems are eligible for funding support for all types of social housing schemes, as well as properties in private ownership. Weber make the process of applying for and securing funding simple. The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) obligation on energy suppliers will be split into two parts – the Carbon element focussing upon more expensive measures such as EWI where the receipt of grant funding will encourage social and private uptake - and the Affordable Warmth element aimed at helping the fuel poor and vulnerable. By linking with the Green Deal, ECO will ensure that EWI ‘pays for itself’ through reduced energy bills over the lifetime of the installed system.

Renders and decorative finishes

Weber monocouche renders create an external, decorative, through-coloured finish suitable for most types of brick or blockwork. The factory production process for Weber monocouche renders ensures quality materials are used in a controlled and accurate method, using proven engineered formulations which result in high performance in practice. Weber is the first producer of monocouche renders to be awarded an A+ rating for weber.pral M as defined in the BRE Global 2008 Green Guide to Specification after undergoing an environmental assessment by the BBA. The BBA accredited weber.pral M is just one of Saint-Gobain Webers products that incorporates One-Coat Technology which is being recognised for its contribution to minimising programme works. By decreasing the drying time associated with a traditional two-coat system by as much as 50%, on-site labour and the cost of other equipment is greatly reduced. Products with One-Coat Technology have the advantage of factory controlled production offering consistent quality and performance, are pre-mixed and require only the addition of clean water on site. All One-Coat Technology products can be machine applied reducing application time further, ultimately resulting in less disruption to tenants and homeowners.

Complementing the monocouche range Weber offer a choice of mineral and synthetic decorative finishes which can rejuvenate existing substrates and provide a high quality finish for new build applications. The low maintenance finishes not only create an attractive appearance but also protect with a durable and weather resistant surface. These products can be used on a variety of substrates and range in nature from traditional finishes to advanced flexible coatings.

Tile fixing

The professional tile fixer will find everything they need within Weber’s extensive range of easy-to-use tile adhesives and grouts. There are solutions for fixing all types of tiles onto all substrates and grouts that provide high levels of protection against humidity or have important decorative attributes. They are divided into four sections:

  • Prep - Preparation products such as levelling compounds, epoxy and PVA primers, an under-tile tanking system and underlayment system to reduce noise transmission through tiled floors.
  • Fix - Ready-mixed ceramic wall tile adhesives with differing properties depending on size of tile used and amount of wetness in the area.
  • Set - Cement-based tile adhesives for floor and wall tiles plus an acrylic primer. Different products offer a choice of setting times and levels of flexibility and some come in white or grey.
  • Joint - The range includes mould-resistant tile grouts; a curing silicone sealant in a choice of colours, for a watertight seal; a two-part epoxy adhesive and grout and an acrylic admixture.

Since the introduction of Low Dust Technology (LDT) in 2009, an advanced formulation applied to weber.set rapid SPF tile adhesive and more recently to weber.floor flex levelling compound, sales have increased to an unprecedented level. LDT has been added to the original products after rigorous research, development and investment by Weber. The addition of LDT dramatically reduces airbourne dust created during pouring and mixing, whilst maintaining all of the original benefits to the contractor.

Construction mortars

Concrete Repair

weber.cem concrete repair systems are available for use in social housing refurbishment projects as well as on major infrastructure contracts. The systems include products for small patch repairs and concretes for larger areas where sprayed and flowing materials are best employed. The components of the systems have been tested to BS EN 1504 parts 2 & 3 for protective coatings and concrete repair mortars.

Precision Grouting, Anchoring & Fixing

Grouting materials can be cementitious or resin-based depending on whether resistance to dynamic loading is required. All Weber grouts are dimensionally stable, are able to transfer loads effectively and are durable under the conditions for which they have been selected. The enforce composite strengthening system offers design freedom with a choice of carbon fibre plates and sheets in a range of sizes and differing properties.

Highways Ironwork Bedding Systems

Weber provides rapid setting cement and resin-based mortars for bedding of kerbs, gullies, manhole frames and other street furniture.

Structural Strengthening

The En-Force composite system offers the designer, contractor, client and owner the unique benefits of using a non-corrosive material for structural strengthening. Externally bonded composite reinforcement will increase the load capacity of structural components and increase flexural resistance through greater stiff ness. The loads are transferred through the epoxy resin adhesive to the bonded composite.

Flooring systems

Weber levelling compounds and screeds are the most technically advanced on the market providing consistent, reliable drying characteristics and optimum durability that can be applied directly onto concrete, as floating, bonded or unbonded screed including acoustic, insulated or heated floors. Weber flooring screeds are manufactured in the UK ensuring availability with quick and efficient lead times and meet the latest Part L and Part E requirements of current Building Regulations with optimum consideration to health, safety and sustainability in the reduction of waste, harmful emissions and recycling.

Leca® UK Insulation Fill

Leca® UK Insulation Fill is a lightweight expanded clay aggregate used as a fill and insulation material in several applications. The ceramic pellets with a cellular inner structure are strong, stable and inert. Leca® UK Insulation Fill will save you hours of time, hard labour and cost when creating foundations for extensions, conservatories, garages, driveways and patios.

Weber’s website gives essential technical data and relevant certification information as well as application advice for all products. Under each category tab, all the features and benefits of each system are clearly detailed to enable clients to make the correct choice. Regular training courses are held at Weber’s dedicated training facilities to support the correct installation of its products and systems.
