The company manufactures all its joinery in-house at its factory in Berkshire, allowing The Sash Window Workshop to maintain the highest standards.

The Sash Window Workshop can offer a full window service covering the whole spectrum from draught sealing and minor repairs, double glazing of existing windows, and the manufacture and installation of secondary double glazing, to complete new bespoke sash windows, casement windows, and timber doors.

All new windows and doors come double glazed as standard. If planning permission does not allow double glazing, the company can also manufacture single glazed windows and doors.

Products and Services

Timber Sash Windows

The Sash Window Workshop manufactures new and replacement sash windows to individual requirements and can replicate the designs used in Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian homes among others. Traditional wooden sliding sash windows can be made to adhere to the requirements of listed buildings and conservation areas, where required. All box sash windows are made to standards complying with EN 14351.

The choice of styles includes:

• Fixed sashes
• Sash window bays

Customers can specify various timber types, glass, window furniture and paint finishes. Glass choices include special glass such as stained glass, safety glass, leaded lights and a variety of obscured glass and bowed glass. All new complete sash windows are glazed in accordance with BS standards to offer the best thermal efficiency. They are supplied fully finished, with white paint as standard but other colours and stains are available on request.

Timber Casement Windows

Timber casement windows made to bespoke requirements are available in styles including:

• Traditional casement window
• Flush casement windows
• Stormproof casement windows
• Modern designs of casement windows.

All are made to the highest standards at the Berkshire workshop. Glass complies to EN 1279 standards and patterned, obscure, safety or laminate glass can be used where required. Wooden casement windows are supplied fully finished with a choice of brass, polished chrome or brushed chrome furniture.

External Timber Doors

The craftsmen at The Sash Window Workshop can manufacture bespoke wooden doors in designs to suit period homes including those from the Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian times. Ranges are:

All are made to individual designs using the finest joinery methods for durability and glazed in a way to cut heat loss without compromising on period character. There is a choice of paint and wax hand coated finishes and bespoke detailing to suit every need and taste.

Installation or Supply-only

The Sash Window Workshop offers a full design, manufacture and installation service, alongside repair services, across London and the south of England. Every installation is carried out efficiently by considerate employees who always aim for the minimum of disruption. For other parts of the UK, the company will manufacture timber windows and doors to supplied sizes. Where possible, the windows and doors will be delivered fully assembled in single units.

Secondary Glazing

The Sash Window Workshop has developed bespoke secondary glazing solutions for both sash and casement windows. These systems are designed to provide the benefits of increased energy efficiency and draught prevention without altering the existing windows. This can be particularly useful in listed buildings where double glazing may not be approved. Sliding and hinged secondary glazing systems will be made to individual requirements to fit the configuration of existing windows.

Timber Window Repair and Refurbishment

A draught proofing and overhaul service is available for timber windows and doors across London and the South, with a minor repairs service available for period properties in Central London. The Sash Window Workshop will take care to only recommend refurbishment where its experts believe it will represent a good long-term investment.
