The Electric Gate Company (EGC) was founded in 1984 and specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of superior quality handmade and bespoke secure gates for commercial and domestic clients. The Electric Gate Company is based in Cheddar, Somerset and has established a large client base including development companies, builders, landscapers, estate managers and private homeowners.
The EGC operates predominantly throughout the South of England, South Wales and London, designing and installing wooden, steel, estate, sliding and wooden infill gates, commercial gates, barriers, roller shutters and automation systems. There is over forty five years of management experience within the industry which combined with extensive electronic knowledge ensures that every customer receives traditional wrought ironwork or solid timber interfaced with innovative, leading edge electronic access technology.
Products
Every gate is individually designed and handmade in-house to specific requirements. The access control systems incorporate superior quality hardwired audio and video entry systems in addition to the wireless audio systems for one or multiple properties. Wooden Gates
The Wooden Gate range is manufactured from solid wood including air dried English Oak, Iroko or Idigbo; alternative hardwoods can be sourced if required. Solid wood gates offer excellent quality, superior craftsmanship and longevity. The gates are fitted with unique ‘L’ shaped galvanised steel brackets, allowing the gates to be automated without causing stress to the wood. The gate systems include inward and outward swing, single and double leaf, solid or open railed and flat or arched top. Decorative features can be included and side access gates.
Steel Gates
The Steel Gate range is handmade within the EGC fabrication facility and are fully galvanised to prevent rust and painted to customer specification. The gates can be designed from an architect’s drawing or alternatively EGC can provide a CAD drawing. EGC has created a vast range of steel gates for residential and commercial properties in simple, ornate, decorative, traditional and high security styles.
Wooden Infill gates
The Wooden Infill gate range is often specified for larger entrances that solid gates cannot accommodate. The infill gates can be made with a simple or decorative steel frame and are a cost effective alternative to solid wooden gates. A wide range of styles and designs can be viewed on the website.
Estate Gates
The Estate Gate range is made from fully galvanised steel, but looks like wood. Pairs of gates can close against a special domed centre stop, making it animal and car friendly. Virtually any design can be accommodated ranging from simple flat top gates to more complex bow or swallow top gates.
Sliding Gates
EGC offers two types of sliding gates; the first slides on wheels across the ground and the other is a cantilever option which has no contact with the ground. Cantilever gates are supported by rollers which slide in a tubular track fitted to the bottom of the gate and incorporate fine balancing which allows the gate to open with little effort. Sliding gates are widely used for domestic, commercial and industrial property entrances, housing estates, traffic control, security and schools.
Barriers and Bollards
EGC Barrier Systems are widely installed for multi-occupancy sites and commercial properties above and below ground. The barriers can be integrated with a vast array of entry and exit automated systems, providing increased security. Many commercial clients demand high security systems and EGC has designed a range of barriers including automatic arm barriers, car park barriers, folding arm mechanism barriers, heavy duty barriers, skirt barriers and height restriction barriers. Bollards are widely used in towns, car parks, parks and residential areas for marking boundaries and protecting areas and the public. The bollard range includes wooden and steel fixed and lockable designs.
Roller Shutters
EGC has designed a range of mesh or solid steel roller shutters for a variety of situations. Window and door shutters provide protection to a property, it occupants and contents from theft and vandalism. The roller shutters can also be used for entrances and exits to car parks and finished in a choice of colours. The shutters are individually designed, easy to operate and can be fully automated.
Automated Systems
All automation systems are supplied with hand held transmitters that enable residents and users to easily enter and exit a property.
