Timber Homes – “Panelised” Pre-Fabricated
The pre-fabricated construction design, this type of construction benefits from having wall sections pre-constructed in Sweden with windows/doors/insulation/vapour barrier and 45mmx45mm inner frame fitted. This drastically cuts down on the on-site build time so making this the perfect choice for the self-build project. Depending upon the size of the building a house can be water tight in just one day 'water-tight' meaning all external walls and internal load bearing walls / roof trusses and gable ends installed plus roof board and felt. All houses featured on our website other than the MORA mentioned below are pre-fabricated. These buildings can be finished in various facades including timber, rendered and brick finish on the pre-fabricated designs.
Timber Homes – Timber on Timber
The more traditional timber on timber type construction, the kits are delivered in pack form and all of the construction takes place on site. The MORA designs are this type of construction. The timber on timber designs (MORA) are essentially a timber frame building with wooden cladding and any reputable builder should be able to offer a construction service, as a guide we would anticipate the MORA 3 bedroom to take approximately 16 weeks to build.
