Established for over 35 years sotech is a leading designer and manufacturer of the Optima range of engineered metal rainscreen cladding and architectural fabrications.
The well engineered and cost effective Optima range is perfectly suited to both new build and refurbishment projects as diverse as the £600m Liverpool South Parkway Transport Interchange, the £70m Xscape family entertainment centre in Glasgow and the £12m Northern Ballet headquarters in Leeds. Sotech is a key supplier of fast track PFI projects including schools, colleges and hospitals across the UK and Ireland.
The Sotech team comprises of experienced personnel in CAD design, product development and manufacture all of whom place great emphasis on customer service. The team strives to both provide and gain complete understanding of the aesthetic, technical, practical, budgetary and scheduling requirements of a project from the perspectives of both supplier and specialist contractor.
Using the latest 3D design/development software in conjunction with fully computerised CAD/CAM fabrication facilities, Sotech is able to manufacture Optima facade systems and ancillary components to the highest quality.
Two highly equipped production facilities totally 65,000 sq/ft are dedicated to the manufacture of rainscreen and fabrications. The manufacturing facilities incorporate some of the very latest in manufacturing machinery, including one of the few Pullmax 720 machines in Europe configured to enable fully automatic batch production of blanks. New sophisticated CNC flatbed routers have dramatically increased capacity for bulk production of aluminium composite (ACM) rainscreen panels.
All punch, shear, press and rolling machines are 4000mm long allowing Sotech to manufacture panels and flashings that are larger than the industry standards.
Sotech has made significant advances in fabrication utilising natural materials such as copper, zinc and stainless steel along with pre finished materials, particularly pre-coated aluminium and aluminium composite materials (ACM), providing architects, designers and contractors, greater scope in design and material choice.
Technology is only as good as the people who apply it. Consequently Sotech invest equally heavily in employing the best staff, by providing initial and continuous training where appropriate and by ensuring that every employee is aware, quality is absolutely central to the satisfaction of clients. An integrated management system provides traceability through all stages from purchase of materials to delivery onsite.
Optima rainscreen systems are supplied through carefully selected subcontractors who have the expertise and experience to ensure the engineering principals of design and manufacture are safely installed and maintained in application to the building design.
