Notice Boards and Display Cases
Notice boards and display cases are used to provide a level of protection for notices and adverts which are to be changed on a regular basis. The display cases are manufactured in powder coated or anodised aluminium, oak or pressure treated softwood and all are lockable, hinged, glazed with shatterproof polycarbonate and supplied with a pin-board backer. The display cases can be made to any size required and come with posts for wall mounting or as integral units with printed, permanent display boards. For short term displays, clients often require the flexibility to insert their own temporary laminated sheets without the expense of a lockable case. Shelley Signs can supply single clamp frames in either aluminium or GRP.
Interpretive Panels and Interpretation Signs
Shelley Signs can design and manufacture any type of interpretive signage for use in parks, businesses, communal areas, public areas, nature reserves and many more. The well-designed signs can be used to display information, maps or directions using full colour printing, GRP encapsulation and a wide range of framing structures.
Sandblasted Timber and Wooden Signs
Shelley Signs specialises in producing timber signs and frames and has the capability to sandblast graphics into the timber to create tactile signs for outdoor use. The tactile signs are made using UK grown timber such as Cedar. The sandblasting process results in raised tactile graphics which can range from large bold images to text and maps which are capable of addressing DDA requirements. Routed timber signs are often specified for entrances and plaques made from Douglas Fir, Cedar or Oak. The text is generally painted to a specified colour. The company has a range of CNC routers which allows the design team to engrave a wide variety of materials such as brass and GRP.
External Signs in GRP
Glass reinforced plastic (GRP) signs offer superior outdoor durability and colour fastness. GRP signs offer a hard resin surface which can withstand scratches and impact damage and graffiti can be easily cleaned off. Shelley Signs encapsulation process also ensures that water ingress is not an issue. Other signage materials include polycarbonate and acrylic.
Signage Printing
Shelley Signs utilises a state-of-the-art wide format Mimaki printer for the majority of printing applications. The Mimaki printer offers an excellent colour fastness with a 5 year warranty against fading, inks are cured by UV and no solvents are used and the process has no VOC emissions.
Gauge Boards
Gauge boards are used for rivers, reservoirs and tidal locations to measure the height of the water level. The boards are made from GRP and are extremely strong and durable and have a very low moisture absorption rate. A wide range of options are available including red datum numeral plates and inland boards.
