Services

Secom has an expert team who is dedicated to satisfying customers’ requirements through the installation, maintenance and monitoring of intruder alarms, access control and CCTV systems which are designed around individual specifications. Key services include:

  • Alarm Receiving Centre: CCTV and alarm systems need to be monitored and Secom uses the latest innovative communication technology to detect, monitor and record potential breaches in security. The control centre handles over 3,000 calls per day and has the capability to differentiate between real and false alarm activation. A real alarm alerts key holders, security officers or even the local police to attend the premises. With Vision and VisionGuard systems, Secom can additionally issue verbal warnings to potential attackers, talk-down threatening situations and liaise with staff and visitors on-site.
  • Service Centre: The fast and efficient service centre is the single point-of-contact for service calls 24 hours a day. With direct contact to engineers, the service centre can co-ordinate corrective maintenance.
  • Elite Service Desk: Secom's Elite Service Desk manages accounts from a central location, providing a single point of contact throughout the UK. One of the main functions of Elite is to monitor the key performance indicators, which are agreed on commencement of a service contract.
  • High Security Team: Secom's high security team is available 24 hours a day to respond to any security threat at designated sites for high profile customers within the private and public sectors. The team is made up of multi-skilled installation and service engineers who are fully trained in CCTV, access control and IP-signalled intruder alarm systems.
  • Police and Government Agencies: This specialist division focuses on the high level of protection required by key government agencies responsible for public safety, justice and related affairs. Services include the provision, monitoring and servicing of cost-effective electronic solutions to secure facilities.

Intruder Alarms

Secom provides installation, monitoring and servicing of a wide range of alarm systems which are designed to deter potential intruders. Secom is an NSI member and all systems are compliant with current industry standards. The Alarm Receiving Centre operates 24 hours a day and is connected to all UK police forces. Products include:

  • Movement detectors

CCTV Surveillance

Closed circuit television, linked to Secom’s digital recording equipment provides 24-hour surveillance. The team can provide advice on the optimum combination of cameras, recording equipment and lighting to observe property to protect against theft, violence and vandalism. Key CCTV equipment includes:

  • Dome CCTV cameras
  • Medium to high resolution CCTV surveillance cameras for all lighting levels
  • Discreet CCTV cameras for domestic properties

Access Control

Secom’s comprehensive range of access control products range from basic voice and video entry phones, to pin number or swipe card-operated locks and PC-based systems. With a flexible approach to monitoring the movement of individuals across one or multiple sites, customers can be assured of a safer environment. Key products include:

  • Proximity readers using cards or tokens to gain entry
  • PIN readers with four or six digit codes
  • Door access control readers
  • Electronic door locks

Key Response

Should an alarm system be activated at any time, a professional Secom trained response officer will investigate and assess the situation and take the necessary action to make the site secure, such as notifying the police, locksmiths or organise boarding-up.

Interactive Visual Response

A cost-effective and rapid response to security threats, Secom has introduced Vision and Vision Guard services to protect property and individuals. Secom links CCTV systems to the Alarm Receiving Centre to detect and deter intruders.

Smoke Fogging Systems

A commercial smoke fogging system is a device that is used in conjunction with an alarm system and emits smoke to hide valuables and prevent vandalism. The fogging system emits 135 to 400 cubic metres of harmless fog in 30 seconds. The fog is 100% safe and will not harm humans, animals or property.

Physical Protection

To support the electronic systems, Secom’s in-house factory designs, manufactures and installs made-to-measure, robust physical security products. All the equipment is guaranteed for 12 months and optional service and maintenance packages are available. Products include:

Remote Monitoring

Secom provides a remote monitored security and alarm response services which are available 24 hours a day. This service is an ideal alternative to manned security, reduces call-outs and false alarms and provides rapid response to real threats to security.
