Round Wood of Mayfield Company Profile

Round Wood of Mayfield consists of three strands: "Quality Oak & Decking Products", "Oak Framed Buildings" and "Home & Garden Features", (supplied through sister company Round Wood Trading). All operate from one facility and share a common belief in the traditional crafting of premium materials.

Its Quality Oak & Decking Products include solid and engineered flooring, internal and external doors, joinery, skirting, other mouldings, ironmongery and hardwood decking. In addition to Oak, decking is supplied in the tropical hardwoods Ipe, Balau and Massaranduba.

The only softwood decking offered is cut from Cedar, as its resistance to fungal and insect attacks gives it similar durability to its denser cousins.

The hand crafted "Oak Framed Buildings" on offer include garages, garden buildings, conservatories, annexes and extensions. More information on these and our other products is supplied below.

Decking

The company offers a range of decking products including Ipe, Balau and Massaranduba as well as their own oak range.

• Tropical Hardwood: IPE is an extremely high-end decking product, said to last 100 years even if untreated. It is highly resistant to insect and fungal attack and boasts beautiful variations in colour. Massaranduba and Balau are also extremely hard-wearing and offer alternative aesthetics. All offered as smooth, grooved or reeded boards.
• Oak: Another hardwood that offers a classic appearance which weathers to a beautiful silver. Blends beautifully into natural surroundings, again available smooth, reeded and grooved.
• Cedar: The only softwood available from Round Wood. Naturally resistant to fungus and insect attack - a very oily decking product.

Decking accessories

There are a variety of posts, handrails screws and fixings as well as specialist oils and waxes available for all decking products. Round Wood is the exclusive distributor in the UK of the ArchiDeck hidden deck fastening system. This allows you to fit decking boards without the need for unsightly face screws, allowing clean contemporary lines.

Flooring

A number of widths are available in both the engineered and hardwood flooring ranges, as well as variety of trims, accessories and underlay. The company also supplies solid oak skirting and architrave.

• Engineered flooring: This type of flooring is suitable for under-floor heating or in conditions of temperature variance-where solid oak floors are not suitable.
• Hardwood Flooring: Stylish and hardwearing, the oak wooden floor range includes finishes which are pre-oiled, pre-lacquered and unfinished.

Hardwood Doors

Made from European oak, the range of doors offered varies:

• Interior doors: With ledged and braced, cottage, farmhouse, panelled and period designs.
• External doors: Hand-made by qualified joiners and fixed using mortise and tenon joints. Designs include framed ledged and braced doors, stable doors and garage doors.

Glazed panels can be used if required. Doors can be bought assembled but door kits are also available. A bespoke design service is also offered.

Ironmongery

Hand forged for authenticity, the range of wrought iron accessories includes bolts, hinges, latches, hooks and matching nails, screws and fixings.

Oak Framed Buildings

Round Wood of Mayfield offers a wide variety of oak framed buildings. Whilst typical developments include garages, garden offices, conservatories, pergolas, annexes and extensions, their experienced staff are able to cater for any requirement.

Every building is traditionally crafted to a very high specification. In order to ensure quality and ease of build, oak pegged mortise and tenon joints are perfectly cut and each frame is pre-assembled before it leaves the workshop.

Once on site the structure can then be put together by either Round Wood of Mayfield’s fitters, or your own team. Over time the frame will continually tighten as the green oak contracts, ensuring even further stability.

Through its other strands the company also offers ‘Home & Garden Features’ and ‘Quality Oak & Decking Products,’ amongst which you will find the perfect accompaniments for your new building. All of these products can be delivered nationwide through their distribution network.
