Rolawn is based in Elvington, North Yorkshire and specialises in the production and supply of cultivated turf and topsoil and also provides lawn seed, fertiliser, topdressing, soil improver, compost and bark. The company has a large client base of professional landscapers, house builders, sports turf professionals, championship golf courses, gardeners and the Royal Horticultural Society.

The extensive range of products is available through a national network of suppliers. Rolawn submits the turf for regular independent testing by the Sports Turf Research Institute and the topsoils are safe, fertile, certified, superior quality and analysed to BS 3882:2007. The Rolawn brand is renowned for the quality and service provided and is a member of the British Association of Landscape Industries, the British and International Greenkeepers Association and the Institute of Groundsmen.

Turf

Rolawn turf is produced using superior quality seed mixes and with great care and attention throughout the sowing, cultivation and harvesting processes.

Turf products include:

• Medallion Turf: The most popular selling and specified turf within the range, Medallion is a hard wearing, slow growing, drought tolerant, ryegrass/fescue lawn turf used by professional landscapers and experienced gardeners. The turf offers superb resistance to disease and wear, is 99% weed free, establishes easily and is suited to areas that require a quality appearance, with strength and low maintenance characteristics. Turf roll sizes are available in 1m2, 13m2, 18m2 and 26m2.
• Minster Pro Turf: A fine bladed 100% fescue turf which is deep rooting and has the superior quality finish that is required for golf and bowling greens. Minster Pro Turf is also ideal for landscape applications and low trafficked ornamental domestic lawns. Key features include year round colour, resistant to weed attack, less reliant on irrigation systems and fertilisers, shade, drought and salt tolerant and less disruption to the playing surface. Turf roll sizes are available in 1m2, 13m2, 18m2 and 26m2.
• Rolawn Turfmaster System: A large roll format turf with specialist, easy to use laying equipment which allows for fast laying on large projects such as sports pitches, large lawns, public open spaces and golf courses. 13, 18 and 26m2 rolls are available.

Topsoil

Good quality topsoil is an essential component for the establishment and development of turf, seeds, trees, shrubs, vegetables and plants. Rolawn has a great deal of experience in the development of topsoils for various applications and all are safe, fertile and available all year round. Products include:

• Blended Loam Topsoil: A peat-free, organic rich multi-purpose topsoil, perfect for planting and landscaping.
• 'Screened Loam Topsoil:' A fine, peat-free sandy topsoil which has been recovered from prime arable land and has been screened to 10 and 20mm.
• Turf and Lawn Seeding Topsoil: Formulated for use with Rolawn turf, the topsoil provides a level surface and firm foundation and is blended with Rolawn GroRight Lawn Establishment Fertiliser.
• Beds and Borders Topsoil: A superior quality, fertile, peat-free topsoil which is organic rich, light and friable and contains a controlled release fertiliser with a unique water retentive polymer. This topsoil offers an improved plant growth rate and enriched root development.
• Vegetable and Fruit Topsoil: A blend of soil which is derived from arable land and a consistent organic matter, but does not contain manure, which is suitable for growing fruit and vegetables.
