Richard Williams Furniture creates and designs contemporary furniture, from the smallest keepsake box to furnishing a whole house. Its portfolio includes chests, cabinets, desks, tables and chairs, wardrobes, outdoor furniture and complete kitchens.
Richard Williams started the Hampshire-based company in 1990 and has since expanded to run a team of expert craftsmen with Richard still designing himself. When taking commissions, he meets with clients to discuss the preferred timber as well as budget and timescale considerations. The company is also used to working with interior designers and architects. Its clients are UK-wide and abroad, and the company is looking to move from its Amersham workshop to a larger premises in Beaconsfield towards the end of 2009.
Projects:
- Chests and cabinets
Richard Williams Furniture’s extensive range of chest and cabinets includes a pair of drawing room cabinets, one to house a TV and hi-fi, the other drinks and a mini fridge. Also available are cabinets made of Macassor Ebony, Masur Birch and rippled Sycamore, and a gentleman’s chest from solid timber.
- Desks and studies
The collection of desks and studies features a desk design that was awarded a Guildmark by the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers and other examples created in maple and Mediterranean olive with a frieze draw for a laptop. Both come with corresponding chairs.
- Tables
Richard Williams Furniture tables include side tables, both in pairs or as individuals, hall tables and sofa tables. Bespoke campaign tables of Macassar ebony and holly can also be commissioned.
- Dining furniture
The company’s dining range includes dining tables and chairs made from various different materials and to suit a wide range of styles. Options include a matching side table and wine cellar chairs in the collection.
- Kitchens
All Richard Williams’ kitchens are designed and made by Williams and his team and references are freely available. Visit the company’s website to see examples in oak and American walnut.
