Established in 1932, Peter C. Cook & Co has spent more than 70 years building a business specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of canopies, dormers for windows and roofs, finials and brackets, bay windows, screens and other accessories as well as joinery, metal work and plastic lumber products.
Supplying to large UK housebuilders and architects, the company, based in Kirkintilloch, Lanarkshire, is a family run business set up by Peter C. Cook. His grandson Douglas Cook is now the managing director. As well as traditional timber products, the company also offers a range of glass reinforced plastic (GRP) products.
Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP)
All GRP products are offered ready assembled to ease and speed up installation. The products are supplied in a variety of colours and a choice of textured finishes and many styles to suit the build.
Joinery Products in Timber or Plastic Lumber
The company’s own joinery workshop in the factory in Kirkintilloch offers a range of products with rapid manufacture and supply. These products include screens, hardwood doors and porch canopies.
Plastic Lumber Products
Designed to meet each customer’s specifications, the company’s versatile and low maintenance range of plastic lumber products includes: full balconies, porch screens and features such as pillars and brackets.
Modular Bay Window
Supplied as one single unit, the window is manufactured from foam panels with insulation. Ideal for all styles of build, the original concept was developed with a major house builder. It can be made from GRP and the stonework surrounding the window can also benefit from insulation. The canopy is covered with Durabuild in a stone effect.
Metal Work Products
The company supplies a number of architectural features such as posts, brackets and rails to suit all types of building projects. Customers can choose from pre-specified and designed products or have a hand in designing a unique piece for a build.
The company’s state-of-the-art factory enables the needs and requirements of all customers to be met with ease. The new factory in Kirkintilloch is six times the size of the original workshop enabling the company to take on larger orders for existing and bespoke designs. With a staff of 24, the dedicated and experienced team ensure a professional result.
The company has designed for and supplied to large house building companies including Bryant and Miller Homes. A specialist team can work with the customers design team to produce the right products from the initial concept stages through to completion. The company can also supply full architectural drawings for any technical departments.
All of the products are delivered by Peter C. Cook & Co’s transportation fleet and come shrink or bubble wrapped for safety. The products are specifically labelled according to the house plot number so that the right products are delivered straight to the relevant build. The company can also offer all new customers health and safety documentation as required by law.
