Mabey Hire Services has fifteen depots throughout England and Wales offering national coverage and operates in Scotland as Murrayplant with depots located in Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow. Services
Mabey has a large network of engineers who are based at nine of the depot locations and can provide expert advice and technical support to clients. Every engineer has extensive practical experience within the construction industry and utilises state-of-the-art computer software systems for drafting and design. All equipment is safety and quality checked before it is despatched and is subjected to legal testing that often exceeds the minimum required by law. Full guidance and advice on using the equipment is provided through data sheets and installation guides. The company is OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety accredited and has received the ROSPA Gold Award. Contract Services
Mabey has a Contracts Division which is an extended service available to clients which incorporates full subcontract design, supply and installation packages which are overseen by specialist in-house engineers and site teams. Based in Wigan, the team offers a complete turnkey service for temporary works requirements including temporary bridging, falsework, heavy shoring, façade retention and vehicular restraint systems.
Propping and Jacking - Falsework and Framework Services
- Kwickstage: Kwickstage system scaffolding is available in various sizes and is suitable for all soffit applications ranging from light waffle floor slabs, bridge decks or culvert construction
- System 160 Soldier: A high-strength system suited to the most demanding formwork jobs. The higher load capacities across the system greatly reduces the number of required components, which reduces assembly and striking times
- Mass 25: A modular shoring system that can support loads of up to 250kN and is used for building refurbishment applications, bridge refurbishment and parapet construction
- Mass 50: Used for a multitude of uses in building and civil engineering industries, Mass 50 can support loads of up to 500kN
- Mat-125: An adaptable support system for heavy shoring applications
- Superprop: With four vertical channel prop sections, Superprop has the capability to support up to 240 tonnes per prop and can be used for heavy propping and lifting in numerous applications
- Hydraulic Jacking and Monitoring Equipment: Mabey offers a range of hydraulic jacking systems and pressuring and monitoring equipment including the Mat-125, PRO50 Jack and Climbing Jack System
- Frami Panel System: A sturdy, hollow-sectioned steel frame which allows small areas to be formed quickly and efficiently, ideal for strip footings, block foundations, retaining walls and parapets

Temporary Bridging

- Mabey Quickbridges: A modular all steel system in a standard width of 1.725m and available in spans of 6-20m
- Panel Bridges: A range of prefabricated modular steel bridging which can be built into single or multi-span structures in spans of 4.5-80m for use as roads with various traffic requirements
- Towers: A versatile range of propping towers that will support multi-span roads or contractors bridges quickly and cost effectively
- Trench Crossing Units: These units enable greater widths of trenches to bridged and are capable of carrying single vehicles of up to 40 tonnes. A wide range of sizes are available in this range
BarrierGuard 800
BarrierGuard 800 road safety barriers provide a continuous physical separation and increased safety standard for the public and workforce within traffic management schemes. The system is quick and easy to install and is a strong deformable steel safety barrier with a unique stepped profile that stops out of control vehicles by absorbing their energy through a mix of self-weight and catenary action. BarrierGuard can be used for straight and curved applications and is approved by the Highways Agency and the Scottish Roads Authority.
