Pavement Lights and Smoke Outlet Panels
Introduced over 100 years ago, pavement lights were originally designed to provide natural daylight in basements and cellars. Manufactured using reinforced concrete panels incorporating glass lenses, pavement lights still provide this function coupled with a non-mechanical form of smoke ventilation in the event of a fire. Luxcrete pavement lights are an attractive feature for applications including public footpath areas, outside shops, offices, commercial and industrial premises. Pavement lights can also be designed for heavy duty applications including loading bays and roadway areas where vehicles are travelling. Solid ‘S’ type smoke outlet panels are also available where the top face has a brass or stainless steel demarcation strip set in to identify the ‘frangible’ area which may be broken out in the event of a fire. The ‘SG’ range are designed to accept a top finish by others to match adjacent finishes e.g. marble, tile, resin bonded aggregate etc.
Pre-Cast Stair Treads
Pre-cast stair treads complement the range of glazed flooring panels. There is a wide range of glass lens options available. Luxcrete stair treads can be used internally or externally, adding a new dimension to any construction project. The stair treads are compliant with the slip resistance standards of BS 5395. Every stair tread is manufactured to bespoke designs and is supplied in pre-cast format only.
Luxcrete Floorlight and Rooflight Systems
Luxcrete floorlights and rooflights will create a stunning and practical feature within any project. The majority of floorlights can be supplied to coordinate with stair treads or vertical stallboard panels for total continuity. The floorlights and rooflights are bespoke designed and provide a natural transmission of light, illuminating the floorlights can create a stunning visual effect.
Fire Protective Flooring/Rooflight Systems
Luxcrete has developed a range of flooring and rooflight systems that offer various levels of protection from fire. Building Regulations define and require that the installation of all structures within specific locations of a building be of a proven and tested design which carries valid certification and provides the necessary levels of fire resistance for integrity, insulation and load bearing capacity. Panels in the R.254/BG1930, R.254/BG1960 and R.254/BG1990 range of glass block construction can offer 30, 60 and 90 minutes of insulation and integrity.
Fire Escape Hatches
To conform to statutory Building Regulations, properties with basements and sub-vault areas must have an effective means of escape in the event of a fire. Luxcrete hatches can be fitted in isolation over existing apertures or incorporated within new Luxcrete pavement lights. The company can supply and install escape hatches in-situ or in pre-cast pavement light formats. The hatches are simple to operate and feature an easy-release catch and powerful gas strut damper springs. The hatches are manufactured in pre-formed mild steel sections and finished with a corrosion resistant galvanised finish. These are available in single or double leaf formats having either glazed or solid infill leaves.
