For more than 60 years, Lawson's Yard has been manufacturing beams, flooring, doors, worktops, cladding and furniture from reclaimed timber and imported hardwood. The company has established a strong reputation for quality, using traditional methods alongside modern machinery to create beautiful, hardwearing and individual bespoke products.
The company has a highly skilled team with a vast range of knowledge in the construction industry and works with clients to design and create highly individual items to specific requirements. All work is carried out onsite at the workshop in Burscough, Lancashire.
Products include:
Beams
- Reclaimed Oak Beams
A huge range of beams are available from stock, and are available off the shelf or fully cleaned and treated. The treatment process involves the removal of any decaying wood, shot-blasting, hand sanding and treatment with fungus and insecticides. They can be finished with wax or polished if required.
- New Oak Beams
Available rough sawn or planed-up and sanded, up to 22 feet long, the beams can be adzed to give them a distressed look. Trusses, beams and rafters are also available in kit form so they are ready for assembly on-site.
Flooring
- New Oak Flooring
Manufactured using mainly French oak or English oak and kiln dried to 10-12% moisture content. Options include natural, fired and traditional oak in 6 or 8 inch widths.
- Reclaimed Flooring
Tongue and grooved reclaimed antique, pitch and yellow pine and oak flooring, that is finished and ready for laying in various sizes.
- Engineered Flooring
Is a robust high quality flooring available in a variety of styles in Legacy and Vintage ranges.
- Stone and Slate Flooring
Lawson's now stock a range of York and Indian stone floors, setts and curbs and slate floors in a variety of sizes and styles.
Decking
Superior quality hardwood decking produced on-site at the company's saw mill.
Reclaimed Pine and Oak Doors
Individual doors are produced using high quality pine or oak with old-fashioned rose head nails for a genuine, authentic look. The wood is seasoned and will not bend or warp and is reclaimed from schools, churches, country houses, chateaux and mills and is often over 70 years old. A range of door casings are available to match doors, architrave and skirting boards, which are manufactured in the company's joinery shop.
Worktops
Custom-made worktops manufactured by hand to specific requirements in a variety of superior quality wood types for use in kitchens, bathrooms and living areas. The worktops can be prime grade without knots or character grade, with knots sanded and filled.
Cladding
Reclaimed pine or kiln-dried oak is used to cover steel beams, which is then distressed using traditional methods, draw knives and hand adzes. Sized by the in-house joiners to suit any type of beam and finished ready for fitting on-site.
Surrounds
Using both new and reclaimed oak and pine, the in-house craftsmen can design and produce high quality bespoke fireplace surrounds to fit any fireplace whatever the size.
Furniture
A range of custom made tables is available using reclaimed oak and pine in contemporary designs to customer's specific sizes and styles.
Lawson's Timber obtains all its hardwood timber from FSC certified forests across the world. The company's aim is to provide clients with high quality products and service. A knowledgeable team is on hand to guide customers through the design and manufacture process and the company encourages visits to the mill to inspect progress and be assured of a superior service at all times.
