Keymer, has been synonymous with the manufacture of quality roofing products since 1588. Utilising the natural clay found in the Kent and Sussex Weald, Keymer, produce hand made clay roofing tiles which embellish the country’s most prestigious buildings.

Produced in three colours - Antique, Elizabethan and Wealden Red - they are designed to make your project look outstanding. A genuine hand made British clay tile that offers a serious alternative to the traditional style of clay roof tiles. Produced in three colours - Heritage, Priory and Downs Red - they are designed to make your project look outstanding. Every tile weathers naturally to look better and improve with every passing year.
- Ditchling
The Keymer Ditchling is a hand crafted, sand faced clay tile that has been created specially to simulate Keymer's renowned Traditional range of tiles and fittings.
Peg tile range
- County
Our County peg tiles are traditional to look at, but innovative in design. They are created for renovation use, with three nail holes and one nib, to make fitting easier and less disruptive. These tiles are the ideal choice for the refurbishment of older peg tiled buildings or for use on oast houses.
- Kent
Our Kent peg tiles are Britain's best peg tiles, hand made by craftsmen using the company's rich Wealden Clay. They are better and more cost effective than using second hand tiles which can quickly deteriorate once stripped off and re-used.
Ornamental Tile Range

Since hand made clay tiles first went into production, their makers recognise that special design could set a roof or clad wall apart from the rest – enhancing the building in looks as well as worth. To ensure compatibility with all Keymer products, the range of ornamental tiles can be made to order in all standard colours.
Ornamental tiles are only available in the standard traditional colours Wealden Red, Antique and Elizabethan.
Only the Club tile is held in stock, all other ornamental tiles are made to order.
Rustic Fittings Range

Keymer, the UK’s oldest and most prolific manufacturer of genuine hand made clay tiles, recently launched their new range of Rustic fittings specifically developed to blend in with second hand tiles or aged roofs.
When fittings are stripped from roofs being restored, they are often damaged and new fittings are purchased, resulting in an obvious mismatch. But with Keymer’s Rustic range of hips, ridges, valleys and gables replicating the look of aged fittings, they provide the ideal colour and character match.

Keymer has manufactured decorative hand made clay roofing products for more than 300 years. Traditional terracotta ball-top finials, crested ridge tiles and the impressive Wyvern have now been joined by a family of gargoyles and imps. Whether or not, as traditionally believed, they ward off evil spirits can not be said, but they can make every roof that little bit special, that little bit different, that little bit distinctive. The range is distinctive and we are always prepared to consider an original design.
From its origins as a manufacturer of all fired clay products, Keymer has gradually reduced its output to put more emphasis on their unique tile manufacture. Keymer has recognized the growing interest in conservation and preservation over the past thirty years and as such their products provide sympathetic solutions for restoration projects and quality new builds.
Demand for Keymer tiles has steady increased over the years with no decline in quality or attention to detail.
The company now employs 75 skilled craftsmen producing quality tiles and exporting British tiles to the Continent, America and lately even Russia and Japan.
