Kedel is a family thriving business based in Burnley, Lancashire and specialises in the manufacture and supply of recycled plastic profiles and outdoor recycled plastic furniture of exceptional quality. The product range includes recycled plastic lumber, drainage and ground reinforcement grids, garden furniture, planters, raised garden bed surrounds, and a compost bin. Kedel’s recycled plastic is very durable, attractive, will never rot and needs no painting. Products are resistant to mould growth and will maintain their appearance for decades.

Every product is produced from plastic waste, carefully processed using minimum energy consumption which releases 250% less CO2 into the atmosphere when compared to virgin plastic manufacture. Many of the products are designed to last for up to 50 years without the need for paint or varnish.

By recycling this unwanted plastic, Kedel prevents many tonnes of plastic waste from ending up in landfill sites or incinerators and greatly reduces the carbon footprint of its clients’ construction projects. Plastic waste causes a lot of environmental damage, harming the health of fish, animals and humans. Scientists estimate that plastic waste can take over 450 years to breakdown causing problems for many generations.

Garden Furniture

The Garden Furniture range incorporates the usual Benches and Picnic Tables as well as Children’s Outdoor Classroom Furniture suitable for educational environments and play areas. This furniture has been thoughtfully designed to be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional, robust and easy to maintain and assemble. Many products are delivered fully assembled. Gardening

Kedel’s beautiful range of high quality gardening products includes a compost bin, planters and raised beds, all manufactured with recycled plastic.

Planters are available in four colour options, in sizes 400 x 400 x 370mm, 600 x 600 x 370mm and 800 x 800 x 370mm. These outdoor planters allow users to create beautiful and unique garden features. Unlike wooden equivalents, these planters will not rot and do not leach toxic compounds into the soil, which are often found in wood preservatives.

Raised Beds are suitable for growing vegetables and creative landscaping. Available in small, medium and large versions, with single, double and triple tiers of height, the raised beds come in four colour options. Bespoke designs can be made on request.

Drainage and Ground Reinforcement

Kedel supplies a variety of drainage and ground reinforcement solutions offering environmentally sustainable alternatives to asphalt or paving. A DGR system provides stable surfaces while allowing water drainage and halts ground erosion risks from walkers, cyclists, vehicles, animals or land migration. These tough, interlocking grid systems are 100% recycled and 100% recyclable and incorporate benefits including:

SUDS: Because these solutions allow normal unimpeded drainage, planning permission is not normally required as there are none of the run off implications found with asphalt or paving solutions.

Recycled Plastic Lumber

Kedel’s Recycled Plastic Lumber products are extruded from either recycled polystyrene or recycled high and low density polyethylene (HDPE). Ideal for construction and DIY projects. Kedel’s Plastic Wood (recycled polystyrene) requires virtually no maintenance and is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional wood, concrete and even metal. It received the Best Recycled Plastic Product Award at the MRW Recycling Awards in 2015 because its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of construction applications.
