KE Fibertec is the UKs leading supplier of textile and fabric duct or “air socks”. Fabric ducts are used for draft-free distribution and delivery of air instead of traditional spiral or steel ducts. The system can be suspended in any type of ceiling as the fabric only weighs approx. 300 g/m2. The system is very flexible and can be tailored to all possible dimensions, shapes and lengths for almost all types of rooms. Today, KE Fibertec markets 4 different fabric duct variants each with different properties. All 4 variants are carefully tested, easy to install, and easy to take down for washing without using special tools.
The most common applications for fabric ducts are Schools, Showrooms, Swimming Pools, Leisure facilities, Laboratories, Industrial Facilities, Warehouses, Food industry, Offices, Auditoriums, Theatres and Stadiums.
Fabric ducting is a highly cost effective solution due to its low material cost and speed of installation. Installation taking up to 50% less time than a steel ducting system.
Fabric ducts are suitable for heating and air conditioning by incorporating nozzles or laser cut inject holes, Laser cut air mixing holes can be used to provide a uniform air distribution.
KE Fibertec have developed specialist fabric ductwork solutions for displacement ventilation and under floor ventilation (UFAD).
KE Fibertecs’ in-house design program “Winvent” incorporates an acoustic calculator to ensure their ducting will meet the strictest of noise criteria.
All KE Fibertec fabric duct systems have a wide variety of suspension options. However, the different options have the common feature that they are delivered in fixed lengths matching the length of the fabric duct and include the necessary fixing components and a label stating the place of usage. Our most basic solution is the wire suspension system. Today it is almost only used for round textile ducts in very humid environments.
The best looking and most user-friendly solution for round fabric ducts is the Safetrack system. Safetrack is an anodized aluminium rail which has been approved for use in the food industry. It is a very flexible system and there are several different Safetrack solutions for single as well as double suspension.
For D-shaped and ½D-shaped fabric ducts in up to D800 we recommend our newly developed D-Lite Alu rail which is a lightweight, anodized aluminium rail. This rail gives the textile system a fine finish without wrinkles - even at very low pressure loss.
The specially woven and fire-treated polyester KE-Trevira CS material is produced at KE Fibertec weaving mill with the purpose of producing a customized product for air distribution. Thus the materials do not require chemical treatment in order to prevent the growth of micro-organisms and they only absorb max. 0,5% water even in very humid environments. The materials are woven with yarns that allow for the largest possible surface area which gives the market's best Dust Holding Capacity. The larger the Dust Holding Capacity the higher the washing frequency and compared to plain, cheap fabrics there is a significant saving with regard to the following maintenance. All yarns, including the white, are dyed and after the weaving process the textiles are heat-treated. Why? Because textile is a "living" material, which - depending on the treatment - will shrink during washing and tumble drying. Our yarns do also shrink, but we take the shrinking before it reaches our customers. That is why we dare grant a guarantee of 5 years on shrinkage above 0,5%.
