Joris Ide Company Profile

Joris Ide is based in Gloucester and is a newly formed supplier of high quality metal cladding and roofing products at highly competitive prices. The company offers a comprehensive range of wall profiles, roof profiles, liner profiles and accessories which are manufactured using advanced machinery and Joris Ide’s C200 protective coated steel from an extensive coil stock.

The profiles are manufactured to British Standards and can be supplied in extremely fast lead times to suit specific requirements. Joris Ide offers a delivery service to customers throughout the UK. The profiles are manufactured to order within the UK.

Category C200

Category C200 is the coated steel which is used to fabricate Joris Ide sheeting products. The steel is made up of a galvanised steel substrate with a Plasticol coating. The steel is hot-dip galvanised with a layer of zinc which, when exposed to air, forms a zinc oxide, which reacts further with carbon dioxide to create zinc carbonate. Zinc carbonate is an extremely strong material which creates a protective layer on the steel to prevent corrosion. The Plasticol coating is a 200-micron-thick leathergrain coating which is used to add extra protection for a longer lifespan. A wide range of colours are available which offer long-term colour retention. Standard colours are Goosewing Grey, Slate Grey and Juniper Green.

The product range includes:

  • Profiles: Joris Ide offers a comprehensive selection of profiles which can be used to accommodate a broad range of application requirements. There are four sheet profiles for roofs, five profiles for walls and four liner sheet profiles available, as well as co-ordinating flashings and fabrications. Downloadable technical specifications are available through the company website.
  • Flashings: To satisfy industry demands, Joris Ide offers a wide variety of products which expertly finish metal buildings and close the joints at the points where the elements of a building meet. Such products include an array of options such as standard perimeter flashings, through to ridge closures and drip flashings. Joris Ide Ltd offers a broad spectrum of colours within the stunning range of flashings.
  • Agriclad: Agriclad is a range of profiled metal roof and wall products which provide industry-leading value for the specialised needs of the rural and agricultural building market. The profile sheets, fixings and ancillary products will provide solutions for extremely durable wall and roof systems and all materials are prime. The newly introduced metal profiles provide a full one metre cover and there is a selection of colour options in the premium polyester coating or leathergrain Plastisol for enhancing product life. Co-ordinating flashings, rooflights, fixings, sealants and rainwater products provide a one-stop-shop solution.
  • Spacer Bars: Spacer bars are used to separate the outer weathering skin from the internal liner sheet and stops low density insulation from being over-compressed. Spacer systems are essential to the thermal efficiency and stability of a roof or wall system. Category Cladding is a supplier of the renowned Eurobar spacer systems including the Standard Eurobar, Eurobar Extra and Eurobar Extra Mast. Eurobar Extra and Eurobar Extra Mast have been developed to satisfy the demands of the 21st century building and offer superior thermal performance, driven by Building Regulations Part L. These products also provide greater stability and enable construction companies to install larger depths of insulation to assist in achieving low U-values for wall and roof constructions. Also available is the highly compatible Quattro bar and bracket system which is a stronger, more cost effective spacer system which comes in depths of 80mm-400mm.
  • Fixings: Metal roofs and walls use fixings to secure them onto a substrate. A wide range of fixing types and sizes are available to accommodate any application. The team at Category Cladding can provide customers with advice and guidance on specifying the most appropriate fixing for a particular construction of detail.
  • Insulation: By creating close working relationships with insulation manufacturers, Joris Ide can offer customers a broad selection of insulation products which are competitively priced.
  • Foam Fillers: To ensure that profiled cladding is watertight, the gaps under flashings at the eaves and ridges must be filled. Foam fillers also stop small birds entering the structure and prevent dust and dirt blowing inside. In some cases strong winds can cause roofs to shift if fillers are not properly situated and fixed. The knowledgeable team at Joris Ide Ltd can offer guidance on specifying the most appropriate foam filler for a particular application.
  • Sealants: A comprehensive selection of sealants, mastics and tapes are all available from stock with short lead times.
  • Drip Stop: Drip Stop is an effective condensation control fleece which deals with the issue of condensation on an un-insulated metal roof. The self-adhesive fleece is attached to the underside of the metal sheets during the profiling process and can be used in most situations. Drip Stop absorbs around 1kg of water per square metre and when temperatures rise, the water evaporates. To ensure the Drip Stop fleece is effective, the fleece must be able to dry out properly during the day; therefore adequate ventilation is essential.

Joris Ide is committed to providing customers with cost-effective, innovative and reliable solutions for metal wall and roofing applications. The experienced and knowledgeable team welcomes enquiries and can provide in-depth advice and information across the product range and offer detailed installation guidance. All products are manufactured to British Standards and can be supplied throughout the UK in short lead times.
