John Lewis of Hungerford is the original painted kitchen company. For over 40 years the team has been designing and creating beautiful, handcrafted kitchens. Back in 1972, founder John Lewis, with his passion and enthusiasm for design and woodwork, first started hand-crafting kitchens. His original workshop in Hungerford, Berkshire, still stands today as part of the showrooms.

In 1992 John Lewis created its now signature, Artisan kitchen. Since then John Lewis of Hungerford has opened 13 showrooms countrywide and added 4 new styles of kitchen along with bedrooms and furniture to the portfolio.

Kitchen Ranges

The Artisan Range

The Artisan range has a traditional and elegantly plain English style which works perfectly in a range of homes, from a country kitchen to a Georgian town house, to authentic farmhouse kitchens too. Design features of this collection include glazed and fretted wall cabinet doors, front famed designs and fielded panel and tongue, groove and bead doors, tall cabinet houses.

Pure

The newest in the John Lewis of Hungerford collection. This ultra-sleek handle-less kitchen unites modern, minimalistic kitchen style with a mid-century feel. This chic, simple kitchen design will create a fresh ambiance in any home. Design features include painted or wood trim - available in Oak and Walnut, soft close drawers and clever gullwing-style doors.

Shaker

Shaker kitchens are extremely popular due to their clean, simple and contemporary look that never ages. A wide range of finishes and a mix of colours allow the designers to create complete diversity throughout the kitchen design. The kitchens can incorporate glazed wall cupboards and chunky wooden work surfaces to give a timeless feel.

Urban

The Urban style kitchen is a truly versatile design with smooth finished cabinetry and understated slim handles; this range is perfect for any modern interior.

Crème de la Crème

The Crème de la Crème kitchen collection is an award-winning 1950s retro design which features bold colours and lines. The design is inspired by the renowned English Rose kitchen originally designed by CSA Industries and is constructed from wood and finished with a hand-painted polished high gloss. Features include curved drawer fronts, polished steel end plates and inset handles.

Bedroom Furniture

John Lewis of Hungerford offers an array of fitted and free-standing bedroom furniture, available in Artisan, Pure, Shaker and Urban, each beautifully designed, practical, durable and of course tailored for you. John Lewis of Hungerford’s bedroom collection includes its popular walk-in-wardrobe, which can be created in an existing space or specially built room. All wardrobes are made to your requirements with added interiors such as custom-made, solid oak drawers, shoe pull outs and tie racks.
