Services

Helifix works closely with structural engineers, surveyors and architects to identify the products that will provide the best cost-effective solution for any structural repair project and provides technical support and on-site back-up. After an initial survey, frequently free of charge, a report will be sent containing a diagnosis of the problem and detailing the appropriate strategy to fix the faults.

With vast knowledge of the Helifix systems and how they behave with building materials, company engineers are able to devise an aesthetically pleasing solution that creates the least disruption possible – in most cases retaining existing masonry. All Helifix solutions are flexible enough to allow normal building movement while providing a long-lasting, strong connection. Products are designed for simple operation and quick installation. Helifix designed repair works are covered by product guarantees and insurance-backed warranties.

Remedial Wall Ties

A comprehensive range of remedial products are offered to greatly extend the life of existing structures, providing a sustainable, cost-effective way to fix structural defects in materials including bricks, blockwork, concrete, stone and timber.

  • Helibeam and HeliBars - The helibeam system uses pairs of long HeliBars bonded into mortar to create a beam that restores structural integrity to buildings where masonry has lost its load bearing capabilities. The beam reinforces the existing structure and can be used with Helifix ties to repair many common defects. Helical stainless steel reinforcing HeliBars can be bought in different lengths for various applications, including creating a movement joint in an existing wall.
  • Bow Tie - This heavy duty 12mm diameter threaded stainless steel bar is used to restrain bulging walls. The ties are secured into interior floor joists or roof beams, removing the need for external plates.
  • CemTie - This versatile fully grouted tie is available in different lengths to secure all forms of solid masonry including failed lintels, broken parapets and separated walls.
  • CemenTie - A specialist wall tie designed for thin walls, hollow block far leaves and buildings over four storeys high.
  • Crack Stitching - Stainless steel HeliBars in 4, 5, 6 or 8mm diameter are used with HeliBond grout to stabilise cracked masonry. Kits are available containing 10 lengths of 6mm HeliBar.
  • Concrete Crack Injection Repair - An epoxy sealing system kit for repairing vertical and horizontal cracks in concrete walls, floors, columns, beams and lintels. Suitable for cracks between 0.2mm and 6mm wide.
  • DryFix - A helical pin that provides a rapid way of securing multiple layers of masonry without the need for grout or resin. DryFix is available in a version specially designed for delicate for delicate terracotta facings and decorations; as a short tie for securing unstable render and as a dual diameter asymmetric tie for fixing softer outer leaf material to a harder inner layer without stress. For upgrades to meet seismic requirements, Helifix produces a seismic connector to use with the DryFix system.
  • PatchPin - This short helical pin is used when patch repairing reinforced concrete.
  • ResiTie - A remedial wall tie with plastic sleeves, used in cavity walls where a resin bond is required at both ends
  • RetroTie - A versatile wall tie suitable for all common building materials, combining mechanical fixing and resin bonding.
  • Micro-piles - A simple but effective system for overcoming subsidence problems without the need for excavations.

New Build Ties and Fixings

Helifix has a range of products engineered to provide secure and lasting connections in projects using modern building methods, including timber frame construction.

  • TimTie - Used in timber frame construction to secure masonry to timber through insulation, this wall tie is DD140 Type 3 and Type 6 compliant.
  • TurboTie - An easily installed cavity wall tie offering stress-free connection that overcomes the problems of missing mortar beds.
  • StarTie - Ideal for when securing a new leaf onto a wall, or extending an existing wall
  • HeliBar - HeliBar stainless steel bars are very simple to install during new construction and provide reliable, long-term reinforcement.
  • TurboFast - These headless fixings offer excellent holding power in many applications. They can be used to secure timber or MDF to bricks, concrete or blocks and can be countersunk where required.

Warm Roof Fixings

InSkew is a self-tapping helical fixing for pitched warm roofs complying with Building Regulations Part L. InSkews can be hammer or power driven through roof battens and insulation into rafters, without affecting thermal performance. The Helifix website features a calculator to work out the number of fixings required dependent on roof area and exposure conditions.

Grouts and Resins

Helifix produces grouts and resins in cartridges and self-mix bulk packs for a wide range of construction and industrial applications, along with hand operated and pneumatic applicator guns.
