Gel Fireplaces Company Profile

Gel Fireplaces was established in 2002 and specialises in the supply of an extensive range of fires, fireplaces, burners, gel fireplaces, bio-ethanol fires, bio-gel fires, outdoor fires, fuel and associated accessories. The company was formed to provide customers with new and innovative fireplace designs that are environmentally friendly, functional and attractive. Many modern homes are not compatible with traditional fires due to the lack of a flue and the use of alternative options is increasing in popularity.

Gel Fireplaces is based in central London and has a showroom which is open to customers by appointment only. The company delivers the fireplaces throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Canada. Every enquiry is treated individually and Gel Fireplaces welcomes clients from both trade and private sectors. As market leaders, Gel Fireplaces has many years of experience and knowledge developing the superior Pure gel fuel, which is slightly thinner and burns much more cleanly than other comparable fuels.

Gel and Bio Ethanol Fireplaces

Bio gel and bio fuel liquids are environmentally friendly as they do not release any toxins such as CO² when they are burning and they do not produce any smoke or smell. The Pure bio gel is factory thickened to slow the burning process and the branded bio Ethanol fuel is produced from organic waste, making them the most eco-friendly options for fireplaces. Ethanol is the most popular bio fuel used throughout the world and is produced by the fermentation of sugars derived from wheat, corn, sugar beets, sugar cane, molasses and any sugar or starch that alcoholic beverages can be made from, such as potato and fruit waste. Whilst burning, ethanol’s emissions are similar to that of human breath, containing small amounts of water vapour and carbon dioxide and no harmful substances.

The Pure gel fuel burns at a slower rate than the bio ethanol liquid, creating an orange-yellow flame that is instant, thick and powerful, providing a rich glow. The Pure gel container does require occasional cleaning.

Bio ethanol liquid takes around five to 15 minutes to reach optimum temperature and produces a slightly thinner flame which is more playful and will fluctuate, but burns faster and more cleanly than the Pure gel. Once at temperature, the flame will be a bright orange and yellow colour. Bio fires are generally for decorative purposes and will not replace conventional heating, but are capable of producing a significant amount of heat. Bio ethanol liquid containers do not require any maintenance.

DIY Fireplaces

For individuals thinking of creating their own unique fireplace and hole-in-the-wall fire, the bio container is an ideal solution. The bio container can be used in homes without a chimney and can be specified for see-through double-sided fireplaces. The containers are manufactured from high grade stainless steel and feature an engraved lid that prevents unused fuel from evaporating and a detachable handle for easy extinguishing. Several containers can be placed beside one another to achieve a longer line of fire. The company has also produced Gel conversion packs for standard fireplaces. These can be placed on an existing grate or the floor of the fireplace and they can then be surrounded with pebbles or logs.

Gel Fireplaces prides itself on offering a wide range of eco-friendly fireplaces that will provide a warm, luxurious and attractive feature in any property. With the environment at the forefront of many building developments, bio ethanol fires are growing in popularity as a cost effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional fireplaces. The friendly and knowledgeable sales team is available to offer information and advice and products can be ordered via the website, over the telephone or in person at the London showroom.
