Products
With a wide variety of products available, Fireprotect can tailor products to suit individual specifications. Products include:
Ceramic Tape
Used as a bedding material for fire-resistant glazing systems, high temperature gaskets and fire resistant gaskets for metal partitions, ceramic glazing tape will adhere to clean and dry surfaces such as glass, metal and plastic laminates. Benefits include:
- High temperature stability of up to 1260 degrees for paper
- Easy to cut, shape, wrap and fit
- Continuous flexibility and can be relocated up to 15 times
- Thickness sizes from 1mm to 6mm and widths 10mm to 50mm
Intumescent Tape
Suitable for applications such as glazing systems, vertical timber surfaces, protection of door furniture and certain door and seal applications, the self-adhesive intumescent tape is classified for thermal insulation applications up to 1000 degrees and sticks to surfaces including glass, metals and plastic laminates. Benefits include:
- Medium pressure generating tape that reacts to give a fibrous, stable char
- Minimum combustible materials and low smoke emission
- Simple to shape and fit (can be relocated up to 15 times)
- Thickness 0.5mm and 4.0mm and width ranges of 10mm to 50mm
Protect-A-Shield
This is an adhesive fibrous ceramic paper with an aluminium reflective foil that is bonded to an exposed surface. The inner surface contains a release paper that can be removed, revealing a pressure sensitive adhesive system that can be used to find a horizontal, vertical or curved surface. With a high temperature stability of up to 1000 degrees, Protect-A-Shield is available in sheets of up to 600mm wide and in 1 metre lengths. A board form is available upon request.
Protect-A-Pad
A superior quality ceramic felt-faced pad with a fire retardant silica cloth which is held together with glass tape and fire retardant thread, this forms a sealed envelope for the fibres. Advantages include:
- Reflects heat rather than transferring it
- Will not allow temperatures to be reached that can be high enough to damage paper, paint or plastics on a cold surface
- Low heat retention (20 second cooling)
- Can be regularly wrapped around a small radius without loss of integral strength
- Available in 8mm thickness, 200mm width and 300mm standard length, other sizes on request
FP 007 Water Based Glue
This water based glue is capable of withstanding 1000 degrees when dry. It is ideal for high temperature laminations, bonding substrates such as intumescents and has a high temperature adhesive for ceramic fire blankets, paper and board. Applied using brush or spray coating, FP 007 is a low fume emission, environmentally friendly product.
FP 100 Vinyl Acrylic Copolymer
This is a water based oil and water resistant copolymer. It is low-toxic, solvent free and ideal for coating fibre or textiles using a brush, airless spray or conventional spray equipment. Certification has been achieved and includes BS 467 parts 6 and 7, Lloyds Register of Shipping and is capable of Class o surface spread of flame.
Armaflex Protect R-90
This is a fire penetration seal and pipe insulation that incorporates an intumescent additive into the Armaflex closed cell elastometric insulation; this creates a highly effective fire seal for pipework through fire resistant walls and floors. It is an effective sealant for copper, steel, PE, PVC and PP pipes. Other benefits include a built-in vapour barrier for condensation control, insulation and fire-stop in one and ideal for condensation control on chilled and refrigeration pipes.
Ceramic Blankets
Fibrefrax Durablanket is non combustible and has been approved for use against cellulosic and hydrocarbon fires and for dry wrapping structural steel. With high tensile strength, low shrinkage, low thermal conductivity, low heat storage, thermal shock resistant and high heat reflectance, the Fibrefrax Durablanket is ideal for insulating steam and gas turbines, high temperature pipe, kiln and furnace insulation, expansion joint seals and fire protection systems.
Woven Glass Tape
Used for hose and cable protection, jointing and seals, glass webbing and ladder tapes are resistant to oils, most chemicals and solvents and are suitable for temperatures up to 550 degrees.
Fireprotect prides itself on providing excellent quality thermal insulation products at highly competitive prices. A friendly and knowledgeable team is available to assist clients in finding the most cost effective solution for any application.
