Exescodo Design Company Profile
Exescodo Design Ltd provides a bespoke stonework design service, specialising in producing working drawings and in the detailing of components for stonework projects of all sizes. The company works with clients ranging from contractors and manufacturers to private individuals, detailing features for housing developments, commercial projects or one-off mansions and self-builds.
Founder Paul Marfleet was apprenticed in the drawing office of Empire Stone & Co Ltd, one of the UK’s premier architectural precasters of its time, responsible for supplying and installing precast units to iconic buildings such as the MI6 Building at Vauxhall Cross, London. He creates working drawings for the pricing, scheduling and manufacture of all types of stonework elements, whether precast or natural stone.
Exescodo Design Ltd has excellent connections with manufacturers and suppliers of wet cast, dry cast and natural stonework. Quotations for the supply of product direct from its partner companies can also be arranged.
The company takes pride in tailoring its service to meet a customer’s requirements and budget. Clients are able to use the detailing service as little or as often as they require, which helps to keep design overheads to a minimum. Formal quotations for detailing work are based on an agreed hourly rate or using a fixed lump sum per project. Arrangement can also be made to advise budget costs for any associated structural engineering reinforcement design, bar cutting and bending schedules and metal fixing support and restraint design.
Major projects successfully completed include a development on Chiswick High Road in London which saw the replacement of a building constructed from terracotta dressings with an identical new one built from wet cast reconstructed stonework. Exescodo Design produced all of the stonework layout and fabrication drawings and surveyed and profiled some of the old units to ensure that as exact a match as possible to the original was achieved. Great care was taken to ensure the accuracy of the component coursing heights and mouldings, which was complicated by the fact that the structure had been built in imperial gauge but was rebuilt in metric gauge.
At Eton College, Windsor, Exescodo Design was appointed by Bulmer Brick Cutting Services to produce a number of construction and fabrication details for brick arches featuring bespoke brickwork voussoirs and reconstructed stonework keystones. Rogers Clarke Lander Ltd chose Exescodo Design to detail general arrangement and unit drawings for the manufacture of flint faced double cranked precast cladding panels used at a Tesco store in Sheringham, Norfolk, and API Stone Ltd appointed Exescodo Design to produce all the stonework working drawings and individual stone component cutting schedules for a new Premier Inn Hotel in Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Exescodo Design’s high level of customer service has lead to a loyal customer base for the company and growth built through repeat business and industry referrals. The business welcomes contact from potential new clients and the team is happy to give a no obligation quotation for all things stonework related.
