Source Extraction
Source extraction is the process of capturing pollutants as close to their generation point as possible. For example, this can include a suction casing on a grinder. Source extraction keeps work areas clean and safe, they keep tools and equipment clean to ensure a long working life and the systems are ideal for sensitive environments such as schools, hospitals, shops and IT areas.
Dustcontrol Centralised Extraction Systems
A Dustcontrol centralised extraction system features hoses and reels at each workstation and different nozzles attached at the wall which collect and filter the material waste and house it in a central collector. DC Big Vac can be used as a portable or fixed system, enabling the container to be docked to a temporary or permanent piping system and easily transported between locations. Big Vac can be equipped with a F11000 pre-separator used to remove larger particles. The DC Green System can be used to supplement the system which operates on demand. In saving mode, there are no outlets used and power consumption is limited.
Mobile Dust Extractors
The dust extraction units comprise of a filter unit and vacuum producer working together on a common chassis. Selection is based upon the capacity required, sound level and desired collection method. Dust filtration is always based on the patented Dustcontrol cyclone separation with vortex tube and pleated cartridge filter. Fixed and portable systems, as well as mobile liquid extractors and air cleaners are available to suit each individual application.
Pre-Separators
Pre-separators are used in environments where large quantities of material are generated and require collecting, separating and recycling. Pre-separators are used for material recovery and transportation, to reduce the loading on the ducting system, the central filter and when liquids need to be separated.
Reverse Pulse Cleaning
All Dustcontrol portable dust extractors are fitted with the highly effective reverse pulse cleaning system. The system of reverse pulse cleaning of the filters combined with a conical pleated cartridge design results in small and compact units which provide a long service life.
Tubing Systems
The tubing systems transport the materials from the point of collection to the central unit. Dust is generally abrasive and the standard thickness of the tubing is 1.5mm. For applications with fume and light dust it is recommended a reinforced spiral duct is used; stainless tubing systems and extra abrasion resistant fittings are also available.
Vacuum Producers
The vacuum producer is at the heart of a centralised system and drives the whole system. The vacuum level generally ranges between 6 and 40 kPa. Radial blowers are used for fume and light dust applications as they have larger air-flows and they operate at a lower and constant vacuum level.
Control Systems
The systems are operated via motor starters and system control panels. A variety of control functions can be added as required to suit particular requirements.
Work Station Equipment
Work station extraction systems are sized for specific outlets which are to be used simultaneously which maximises efficiency and minimises the size of the central unit. All outlets must be able to open and close via a manual shutter and flap valves or automatically on demand. The system can use Flexipipe extraction for fumes and overhead suspension arrangements for general use and stainless floor funnels for large volumes.
Suction Casings
Suction casings are vital for effective source extraction. Dustcontrol has developed suction case kits which include a variety of clamping rings and spacers which provide flexibility when fitting to different hand power tools. Suction casings can be used with abrasive and diamond discs, diamond cut wheels, sanding discs, abrasive cup stone, hammer drills, chisels, breakers and saws.
