Dorset Lifts specialises in the supply, installation, modernisation, repair and servicing of 4-12 person passenger lifts, motor room less lifts, platform lifts, goods/service lifts, car lifts, bed lifts, structure supported lifts and car parking systems. The company has a wide and varied client portfolio which has been established through quality, professional service and product choice. With over thirty years of industry experience, the team has a vast array of knowledge and expertise within the field. The products and services can be easily tailored to satisfy specific requirements.

Dorset Lifts has been accredited with an ISO 9001:2000 and is a member of the Lift and Escalator Industry Association. The lifts are supplied with full compliance to the requirements of the DDA Act if required and all come with a 12 month warranty and service as standard. The company’s Health and Safety Policy is regularly reviewed and is approved by CHAS and Mentor Services.

Services

Dorset Lifts will provide a professional service offering advice on the most appropriate solution, quotations and an architectural service which includes building plans, drawing approvals and building regulations. If required, Dorset Lifts can provide a builder to carry out the required works to current standards. The company only uses highly skilled and experienced engineers for the lift installations to ensure quality and safety.

Dorset Lifts also offers maintenance, servicing, repairs, modernisation and refurbishment of all types of lifts. A 24 hour call-out service is available and there are three levels of service contracts available: standard, semi-comprehensive and fully comprehensive. Repair services include SaFED test and examinations, suspension rope replacement, hydraulic repairs, controller repairs, Health and Safety requirements and drive replacement.

The product range includes:

• Standard Hydraulic Passenger Lifts: Dorset Lifts can provide and test 4-12 person lifts which are compliant with EN 81 and British Standards. The lifts operate on 415V, 480V 2 phase or 240V single phase. There is a wide range of finishes available including coloured vinyl, laminates, stainless steel, brass, windows or mirrors. Entrance layouts include single, through and adjacent with manual/hinged or automatic doors.
• Motor Room Less Lifts (M.R.L): Where a motor room is not available, an MRL system is the most economical, safe and tested lift system. The lifts are designed so that the majority of its components fit within the lift shaft. All the MRL lifts can be tailored with a range of layouts and finishes and are designed to offer the same safety levels as standard lift installations. Options include:
• Hydraulic lifts with a power unit in the cabinet or the shaft
• Electric traction lifts with the gearbox in the pit and direct suspension
• Electric traction lifts with the machinery contained in a cabinet at the side of the shaft

Service/Goods Lifts

The service/goods lifts are available to carry goods ranging between 50 and 100kg and are widely used for lifting food, goods, laundry, bottles, trolleys and industrial equipment. The service lifts operate within a self-supporting frame. This frame requires very little construction work and does not require a motor room or load bearing well. Key features include:

• 5-10 day delivery
• Up to 3-way entry on every floor
• The car and shutters can be finished in tough grey baked enamel or stainless steel
• Operates on 415V 3 phase or 240V single phase

Heavy Duty Vehicle and Car Park Lifts

Dorset Lifts has an extensive range of heavy duty hydraulic lifts that can move vehicles and heavy objects. The lifts are generally installed in industrial applications, warehouses, supermarkets, car parks, hospitals and commercial applications. The lift-cars have been developed to offer easy access and security and feature a permanent lift-car-levelling device and the option of swing or sliding doors. There is also a wide range of car parking systems available for economical car parking and storage for multiple vehicles. Features and extras of the heavy duty vehicle lifts include:

• 2700kg-7700kg capacity
• 15 metre/5 stop maximum travel
• Traffic lights at entrance levels
• Remote control
• Strip switch controls on side walls
• Oil heater for cold temperatures and oil cooler allows for increased use
• Faster speeds for long travel heights
• Ventilation fans

Bed Lifts

The bed lift range has been designed to satisfy the vast array of heavy duty requirements that are specified by NHS hospitals. The bed lifts incorporate precise levelling and smooth acceleration and are suitable for travel up to six floors. The systems can be adapted to interface with security systems including swipe cards, key pads and remote control. All hall lanterns, buttons and position indicators are compliant with the requirements of the DDA.

Platform Lifts

There is a range of platform lifts designed to raise a wheelchair and its occupant over a staircase, through floors or to bypass a vertical barrier. Platform lifts are often specified in domestic properties, hotels, restaurants, offices and shops to provide easy access to other floors.

Supporting Structures

Dorset Lifts has a range of structures designed for timber framed buildings that may experience vertical movement due to shrinkage that in turn can cause problems with a conventional lift shaft. The structures feature slipper plates that allow the building to be moved independently of the lift structure, preventing additional stress to the building. Available in 6, 8, 10 and 13 person options, a lift can be supplied in its own self-supporting structure that will be located in a building. The structure will not require load bearing walls, just a firm base, solid floor and headroom support.
