Creative Glass Company Profile

Creative Glass is a leading specialist in the design and production of architectural and decorative glass.

Creative Glass started in 1992, from small beginnings with two people in a very small workshop, to the level it has grown to today.

Creative Glass is now based in a unique showroom/design studio/workshop all in one prominent location on Portrack Lane, Stockton-on-Tees. This facility houses state of the art computer design facilities, allied to the latest production technologies, and the designers and crafts people with the ideas to make it happen.

Creative Glass's objective was to create a niche market, with design as the primary feature of its work. A gap was seen to exist in between fine art and the general glazing sector, with nothing accessible in the middle. Using original design ideas and Innovative production techniques, the company was quickly established as the leader in its chosen field.

Creative Glass has been involved with contributing all types of decorative glass features to most of the current wave of TV design programmes including:

  • Carol Vorderman's "Better Homes"
  • Carol Smilie's "Changing Rooms"
  • Naomi Cleaver's "Honey I Ruined the House"-(helping to rescue the House!!) Gardener's World
  • Channel 4 - "Garden Challenge" at Blenheim Palace

The types of Glass Features produced include:

  • Glass Room Dividing Screens

These are only some of the possibilities; the potential uses for glass are endless.

In working on ideas for the home environment, we are using a vast array of techniques and ideas that have evolved whilst working on a variety of projects such as; the development of waterfront apartments, leading hotels and restaurants.

People are becoming far more adventurous in looking for individual style and features for their own homes, they have broadened their own knowledge and expertise during their own extensive research.

Creative Glass have produced and project managed many major public art and installation art works , literally from near John O'Groats to South West England, and beyond, including up to 40 feet high sculptures incorporating; glass, structural steel, and incorporating startling lighting effects.

Often these sculptural pieces use glass as a structural entity, pushing the limits of glass technology.

These specialist projects are often in collaboration with internationally renowned artists; here the role of creative glass can be to turn an artists visualisation or marquette into a massive structural sound work of art, built for its site specific location.

Creative Glass work with both traditional, and new innovative techniques, utilising the latest technologies, and can accept and visualise artwork in a wide range of electronic data formats. One of our latest ventures is to produce photo encapsulated glass; this can be used in a variety of settings to create amazing effects. The photographic image can be transformed to become a transparent visually stunning glass partition, or as a centrepiece shower wall with an opaque background.

The Creative Glass team will work closely with you our clients, providing advice and expertise to turn your visions and aspirations into real individual features for your own environment, whether it is for:

  • The Home
  • Art & Civic Projects
