Established for more than 20 years, Country Hardwood Conservatories manufactures bespoke high quality hardwood conservatories, orangeries and pool enclosures. Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, the company supplies to more than 100 businesses throughout the UK and its central location allows easy supply throughout England and Scotland.
Country Hardwood Conservatories is also renowned for supplying and installing individually crafted products for high-end properties in the Jersey area. Built by teams of experienced craftsmen, the unique conservatories, built using only the timber from managed and sustained forests, range in style and size. Styles include Victorian, Edwardian, Gable Fronted and Lean-to, all starting at a minimum 3x3m.
Timber
All conservatories are manufactured from wood sourced from sustainable forests; in particular the company uses Utile which is a fine grain West African hardwood.
Frame sizes vary but in general the standard side frame height is 2100mm, including the cill and dwarf wall. Raised and fielded panels can be installed as an alternative solution. Twin slot mortice and tenon joints with weatherproof adhesive are applied during the manufacture of the sash sections of the windows and doors to provide a high performing and durable seal.
Window sash frame measures 70mm x 70mm, transome/mullion section 70mm x 64mm, and the external cill is 144mm x 58mm and top or side opening sashes are hung on stainless steel friction hinges.
Roof Components and framing
The company offers roofing in a range of shapes and sizes and bespoke solutions can also be made to order. A minimum pitch applies for all conservatories. The minimum for lean-to conservatories is 10 degrees while the minimum is 15 degrees for all Edwardian, Georgian and Victorian conservatories.
Aluminium roof capping systems are used as standard with fleur de lys cresting and finial posts available. The standard pre-finish colours are white and brown.
An Exitex roof capping system is used in selected hardwood roof sections and the structures include, as standard, pre-hung outward opening double doors, Marley classic guttering in either brown or white and plastic coated aluminium tie bars.
Glazing and Weatherseals
Glass is not supplied, but the company does recommend 24mm double glazed units are specified with a bronze coloured spacer to ensure thermal performance and noise reduction.
High performance weather seals are used for all rebates in doors and entrance frames and are supplied in a standard black finish.
Security
Stainless steel Saracen High Security friction hinges are fitted to all opening sashes for maximum security. The hinges also allow easier access to the outer side of the glass for cleaning as well as ventilation. All open sashes also benefit from a Saracen High Security Shoot Bolt locking system.
There are seven different colours available for handles if required but a gold effect finish is standard.
Finishes
All hardwood is coated with a choice of colours from the Sikkens wood stain or paint range with primer and topcoat to ensure a long lasting and high quality finish.
