Construction Management Software Company Profile

Construction Management Software Limited (CMS) was formed in October 2002 by two of the leading suppliers of software to the construction industry. One specialised in pre and post contract estimating and valuations software whilst the other specialised in construction industry financial systems.

Recognising an increasing demand in the marketplace for much closer integration between estimating and financial systems the decision was taken to form CMS and to supply from one source, stand alone estimating or financials, or, fully integrated solutions. The result is the CMS Contractor range of modules.

At the heart of the system are the estimating libraries which are supplied by CMS. These can be maintained by the user by adding or deleting estimating rates or the resources contained therein as well as changing prices or indeed by the user building their own library.

The resources contained within the libraries are multi purpose and are used for:

  • Building up rates for estimating
  • A database for a total procurement solution
  • A costing reference for the contract management module (job costing)
  • Links to project planning for contract resource scheduling

The current range of modules includes:

  • Estimating
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Enquiries & Quote Comparison
  • Valuations
  • Contract Management (Job Costing)
  • Contract Sales Management
  • Purchasing Management
  • Subcontractor Management including CIS & C2 Controls

The specific construction industry requirements are met by the above modules. CMS Contractor integrates with the leading accounting systems and currently these are Access Accounts/Sage 200/Sage 50 /Iris Exchequer Enterprise /TAS Books/Microsoft Dynamics Nav.

CMS Contractor will link with other leading core financial systems as required.

CMS are continuing to develop further industry specific modules such as plant hire, planned/reactive maintenance, stock, document management and housing.

There are two versions of the software available:

  • CMS Contractor (Corporate) - VB6/Microsoft Access
  • CMS Contractor (Enterprise) - VB.NET/Microsoft SQL Server

The user will be recommended the most suitable version. There is a simple upgrade path from the Corporate to the Enterprise version if required.
