Services

Coltman offers a comprehensive range of design, manufacture, installation and site services based upon individual client requirements. The design team has extensive knowledge and experience across a wide range of industrial, commercial, domestic and leisure projects. The technical team can provide assistance with design and technical queries and the contracts department can assist with planning to ensure all installations are carried out safely and efficiently. In addition to the standard product ranges, Coltman has many years of experience in developing bespoke products including balconies, beams, columns and numerous other unusual items.

Site Services

A full range of site services are available which also includes the supply and installation of all relevant safety equipment. Every site is visited by a contracts supervisor (CPCS Appointed Person BS 7121) who will assess the site conditions and prepare a written method statement and risk assessment including a crane schedule and lift plan. The installation team all have appropriate CSCS and CPCS cards and is made up of CPCS crane supervisors, SSSTS trained supervisors, CSCS precast concrete installers, CPCS slinger singallers and IPAF MEWP operators. Safety netting, airbags, trailer Airmat systems and crane outrigger mats can be supplied to supplement the installation service.

Hollow Prestressed Flooring and Solid Slabs

Coltman has developed a range of precast concrete floors and roof slabs which are made up of hollow and solid concrete flooring units which are generally 1200mm wide and come in various depths which are placed side by side with a grouted joint. Precast concrete floors are a cost and time effective form of flooring construction which allows the main contractor to progress onto the next level of construction within a day of the precast flooring being installed. The standard precast flooring units are designed for a mild exposure conditions and satisfy Class 3 serviceability requirements as detailed in BS 8110. Designs to Class 1 and 2 are available if required.

Stairs and Staircases

There are staircases to suit the majority of combinations of architectural design, enabling designers to have a wider opportunity for more unusual configurations. The production process enables components which are selected from the common range to be provided economically and special requirements can be accommodated to satisfy specific requirements. Landings can also be supplied to accommodate the majority of designs. Stair flights are generally available from standard moulds with a combination of tread and riser dimensions in any width to 1500mm. The stairs are finished to a type A finish and is suitable for the direct application of vinyl tiles or carpet. Alternative grades can be achieved if required.

Terracing

Coltman offers stadium upgrade solutions for sports clubs and associations including complete terracing projects using raker beams, terrace units and vomitory walls. The components are cast from high quality timber/steel moulds to BS 8110 standards to a type A finish. Coltman has worked on large, medium and small standing and seated terracing schemes and is well-qualified to advise on bespoke requirements.
