CMD Company Profile

CMD was established in 1984 and has grown into one of the UK’s premier providers of office power, ergonomics and cable management systems. The company works closely with furniture manufacturers and their dealers, electrical contractors, architects and consultants to develop solutions for all their power and ergonomic requirements. Based in Yorkshire, CMD has a showroom in Clerkenwell, London.

The design team is focused on understanding a client’s needs to create a solution that is specifically designed for their requirements. With extensive experience within this field, the solutions can vary greatly from client to client. The focus is on finding products that can drastically save time in busy workplace environments.

CMD products are assembled and fully tested within the UK, with the majority of components and materials sourced locally or in the UK. The majority of standard products can be adapted to fit any specific requirement. CMD runs a BS 6396:2008 course in Electrical Systems in Office and Educational Furniture which introduces delegates to the regulations and guidelines that are relevant to office and educational furniture installations.

Bespoke Design

CMD offers an unrivalled experience within the design of ergonomic monitor arms, cable management solutions, power modules and bracketing for projects throughout the UK and Europe. The team has the capability to carry out variations on the standard product range which are known as ‘Specials’ and is equipped to deal with the most complex requests to deliver a total design solution.

Rackplus 13 Amp and IEC Range of Power Distribution Units

Once an overall current draw has been calculated the client can decide on which socket is required. The number of sockets is dependent upon the amount of equipment which is to be mounted on the rack. For example if there are 10 servers, then a minimum of 10 outlets will be required, but more often than not the amount of sockets required will be double the amount of servers. Options include 10, 12 and 16 gang 13A switch left or right handed horizontal or vertical units and 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20 and 24 gang IEC switches.

iLCM – Intelligent Lighting Control Modules

Intelligent lighting control modules have been developed to incorporate energy saving features that will reduce both the carbon footprint and running costs of a school. The Ceilingplus schools iCLM has been developed around the recommendations of Building Bulletin 87 2nd edition version 1 and provides the best stand-alone solution for classroom lighting. Features include 3 DSI based dimming levels and absence or presence control ensuring that luminaires are not left on for long periods when a room is left unoccupied.

CMD is committed to providing clients with a wide and varied range of superior quality power, ergonomics and cable management products that will ensure safety and compliance within the workplace.

The friendly and knowledgeable team at CMD has the experience and skills to assist clients in specifying the most appropriate products for an extensive range of applications. The company does not use call handling automated telephone services – it takes pride in enabling clients to get through to a person who knows what they are talking about. For urgent projects, a dedicated small orders team can process orders in an extremely fast and efficient manner.
