Architectural Profiles Company Profile

Architectural Profiles Ltd (APL) specialises in the design and manufacture of roof and cladding products encompassing a wide range of building applications. The team is passionate about how the products and systems benefit client’s projects and is committed to providing fully guaranteed sustainable systems giving significant savings in utility costs, alongside value engineering to meet strict budget constraints.

Based near Reading, Berkshire, APL manufactures its products in the UK. Its unique Tritherm spacer system is fully patented in the UK and Europe and is the key to the ease with which APL systems meet or exceed Part L2 requirements. EcoClad™ has been independently assessed to generate savings in utility running costs of up to 40%, potentially paying back within 2 years.

APL is a leading integrated system provider within the roofing and cladding industry that has the capability to service some of the largest projects whilst carrying out issues including design, system specification, budgeting and value engineering in a professional and efficient manner to offer total customer and technical support.

Products

APL’s integrated roofing and cladding systems provide designers and architects with complete design flexibility. The varied systems combine a myriad of design opportunities and system options utilising additional materials such as glass, brick and stone. APL systems have been installed on industrial and commercial units, theatres, shopping complexes and stadia of every shape and size.

Systems include 4-panel systems including plain smooth flat, 6 cladding profiles including 3 half round systems, louvres and matching louvre profiles; freespan cantilever systems for overhangs and to eliminate Part L cold bridges, zip seam site rolled standing seam roof, long span structural decking and Strongbak™ structural wall framing systems.

Strongbak™ System

Based upon Kassett construction principles proven in mainland Europe for decades, StrongBak™ is the very latest weatherproof and air-sealed SFS (structural framing system), offering advantages such as speed of installation, versatility of external finish applications and maximum internal space for occupancy. StrongBak™ factory-made panels are attached to the front or in between the faces of vertical columns and can cover spans of up to 8 metres. Virtually any exterior facing can be supported off the system such as brickwork, render, timber, terracotta, metal cladding and various flat panel and rainscreen systems. StrongBak™ is used with the proven APL Tritherm thermally broken spacer system.

Tritherm Composite Panels

Tritherm panels are a thermally efficient and cost-effective solution for walls and industrial roof types. The factory-made wall panels comprise a sandwich of steel panels with a non-combustible rockwool core and will fully integrate with all types of fenestration and louvres. They can be designed to meet a project’s specific structural, thermal or acoustic requirements and come with Microline, smooth flat or lightly profiled external facings.

Composite roof panels contain PIT foam insulation and are fully LPC tested and approved. The steel is available with a choice of colours and finishes.

Roof Cladding Systems

APL manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of roof profiles and decking profiles fabricated from steel and aluminium. When used with the Tritherm spacer system, the roof provides an extremely cost effective solution to a variety of applications. The systems include trapezoidal and sinusoidal profiles, secret clip fix, mechanically seamed standing seam, long span decking, acoustics systems and on-site rolling services. Every APL roof system is fully backed-up with a comprehensive array of finishing details such as bullnose eves, cantilever overhang details and gutter systems.

Wall Cladding Systems

APL offers a comprehensive range of external wall profiled cladding systems to suit a vast array of architectural applications. This versatile collection includes the stunning and dramatic appearance of APL’s CPS Super Flat Panel system with shadow gap reveals and the AP50, 45 and 18 half round profile ranges, available in both steel and aluminium in a wide choice of colours and finishes.

The range also includes horizontal trapezoidal profiles in numerous shapes, ranging from 20mm to 200mm in depth; AP70 LCP integrated louvre profiles and live louvre systems for seamless combination; various internal wall liners, either solid or acoustically perforated; soffits in aluminium and steel to suit all types of building design; bespoke fabrications including corners and flashings to complement windows, doors etc.

Cantilever Systems

APL has designed a collection of cantilever systems which provide stylish and elegant assemblies for verge, eave, parapet and F bullnose applications. A cantilever overhang can be used to create an overhang on a roof of up to 1500mm without any supporting steelwork. This detail can be installed with a minimum depth of just 110mm to a maximum of 500mm. The APL cantilever systems are a simple and affordable way to satisfy and exceed the requirements of Part L2 detailing obligations. Cantilever overhangs provide superior air sealing around purlins and reduces cold bridging.

Architectural Profiles prides itself on offering a wide range of wall and roof systems that will satisfy the requirements for the majority of applications. The experienced and professional team welcomes enquiries and will assist clients in specifying the most appropriate solution for their project.
