Introduction to Amvic Building Solutions

Amvic Building Solutions Ltd is a well established market leader for the manufacture, supply, and installation of Insulating Concrete Formwork across the UK and Ireland.

The Amvic Insulating Concrete Formwork System (also known as ICF) enables you to build highly insulated structures that are very economic to run and a pleasure for the client to occupy.

Based on large polystyrene blocks, or ‘forms’ that interlock together without glue or mortar, Amvic ICF can be built in almost any weather. Once assembled, concrete is pumped into the formwork in up to 3 metre high lifts. The formwork then remains in place to provide a wall U-Value anywhere between 0.24 W/m²K and 0.10 W/m²K, depending on the overall thickness of the Amvic system specified.

Classified as a modern method of construction (MMC), the Amvic ICF system can achieve any level of the Code for Sustainable Homes and comes with full BRE certification.

The Amvic ICF system provides tremendous freedom of design and the ability to build almost any type of structure, from residential developments and commercial buildings, to self-builds and extensions. Amvic ICF gives you much greater thermal, sound, air-tightness and fire performance standards when compared with traditional construction methods, yet at no extra cost.

Basements

Basement construction using Amvic ICF is highly cost effective and a very reliable way of adding additional space without increasing the building’s footprint. By vibrating waterproof concrete into the Amvic forms, a fully waterproof basement shell is easily created. Alternatively, self-compacting concrete can be used. And every AMVIC ICF basement comes with a fully-waterproof warranty when built by one of our Approved Contractors.
