Based in Nottinghamshire, Alpha Rail is a leading company specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke architectural metalwork. Working throughout the UK, Alpha Rail fabricates and installs a wide range of products including galvanised railings, gates, balustrade, pedestrian guard rails, Juliette balconies, bollards, barrier gates and arches.
Since 1985, Alpha Rail has gained a widely respected reputation with many architects and commercial and residential clients throughout the UK. With many years experience, the design team has created a range of products for applications such as educational facilities, residential developments, parks, boundaries, commercial and industrial settings, sports complexes and private residences.

Standard Vertical Bar Railings
Standard vertical bar railings are a popular choice for architects and contractors, often specified for parks, educational facilities and housing developments to offer high levels of performance, security and longevity. Railings are available with blunt, pointed or domed tops and are supplied galvanised or with a large choice of powder coatings in a wide range of styles including Westminster, Kennington, Churchill and Humber.
Bow Top Fencing
Bow top fencing is an aesthetically pleasing, high performance and functional fencing that is suitable for parks, housing developments and play areas. Manufactured to European Standards BS EN 1176:1, bow top fencing is available in standard, interlaced, bow in bow and bar in bow variations. A range of detailed and decorative metalwork finishes are available in a range of powder coat colours. Also available is chevron and flat top fencing rails that are suited to most applications.
Guardrail
Pedestrian guardrails are widely used by local authorities and civil engineering contractors. Alpha Rail can assist in the design specifications to offer sound solutions for specifying a pedestrian guardrail. The basic guardrail is the unit panel design, available in full height or slight gap versions. Infill bars can be increased to individual requirements and the guardrails are supplied in standard bay sizes of 2m and 1m with special sizes available. Finished in a hot dipped galvanised steel, these guardrails can be powder coated in a range of colours.
Other guardrail options include the Optirail high visibility pedestrian guardrail for guiding pedestrians to safe road crossing points and decorative pedestrian guardrails for towns and cities with added features such as posts, rings and finials.
Balustrade
Alpha Rail has designed a range of stair and balcony balustrades that are compliant with current building regulations. The range is polyester powder coated, but can be enhanced with decorative infill panels of various designs, colours and finishes which are suitable for internal and external applications.
Trip Rail
Trip rails are aesthetically pleasing, effective guards that offer protection for grassed or planted areas. Manufactured in hollow circular or rectangular sections, the trip rail can be combined with a finial and galvanised or powder coated to offer a decorative and individual appearance.
Orsogril
Orsogril is an electro-fused grating for the closing of structural openings. Orsogril is extremely strong and offers a minimal reduction in light levels and is ideal for multi-storey car parks, play areas, garden fencing and windows.
Estate Rail
Otherwise known as deer or park fencing, Estate Rail offers a distinctive, attractive and traditional look for parkland perimeters and country estates. Estate Rail is strong, durable and has been specified for keeping livestock within specific areas and boundaries for many decades.
Juilette Balconies
A Juliette balcony is perfect way to add more light to your room; the design is basically a very shallow balcony with balustrades, allowing you to replace a conventional window with patio doors. The benefit of this is that the additional glass from the installation of doors allows for more light and air to pass through and gives a stylish feel to an existing window or lounge area. Available in five standard widths, the balconies are fully galvanised with a black powder coat finish. Designs include the Portland, Byron, Chatsworth, Washington, Jefferson, Cleveland and Lincoln. Individual designs can also be commissioned.
Gates
Alpha Rail has a wide range of gates available for complementing the fencing and railing systems or adding to a driveway entrance, car park or play area. The range includes bespoke designs, cantilever, sliding and automated options.
Handrails
There is a range of handrails available which can be wall mounted, floor mounted or attached to a vertical fence. Manufactured from square or round hollow sections, the handrails can be finished in any colour.

All Alpha Rail products are hot dip galvanised to BS ISO 1461 to offer maximum protection from corrosion and can be finished in a factory applied powder coat in a variety of standard colours from the BS/RAL range.
