Allerton Company Profile
Allerton was established in 1974 and is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of sewage and effluent treatment systems. With over thirty five years of experience, the team at Allerton has the capability to offer a tailored solution for individual requirements regardless of the size and complexity of a project. Every product is manufactured to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance System standards and includes sewage treatment systems, pump stations, sludge dewatering, grease traps, grease dousing systems, rainwater harvesting systems and interceptors and separators.
Allerton specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of sewage and effluent treatment plants and pump stations for raw sewage, dirty water and storm water. The sewage treatment plants are available for a wide variety of applications ranging from single dwellings to moderate sized developments and pump stations that cater for a single annex through to large commercial applications.
Products
Allerton provides products to domestic and commercial clients throughout the UK which are backed by comprehensive after-sales and support service. The knowledgeable sales team welcomes enquiries to discuss issues or particular requirements and will endeavour to find an appropriate solution and provide a tailored quotation based upon the specific needs of the client. Installations and commissions can be carried out by Allerton’s experienced and professional trained engineers.
The product range includes:
ConSept Sewage Treatment Systems
ConSept fits inside an existing septic tank or cesspool and turns it into a functional sewage treatment plant. ConSept is an aerobic system and bubbling air encourages the growth of aerobic bacteria which causes agitation and breaks up solids in the sewage, producing a final effluent that can be discharged into a watercourse or soakaway. ConSept is manufactured from high grade composite materials and non-ferrous components that will not corrode. The system will require annual servicing and desludging every two years.
Mini, Midi and Maxi Biofilter Sewage Treatment Systems
The Biofilter system works by allowing raw sewage to flow by gravity into the first stage of the primary settlement zone. The solids settle, leaving the liquid to pass through to the second stage, for more settlement, prior to reaching the irrigation zone. The effluent is pumped into the distribution system where it is slowly drained away via a media bed and when fully treated, is pumped or it gravitates to the watercourse or soakaway at a rate set by the Environment Agency. The system produces high quality effluent 20mg/l BOD and 30mg/l SS and the Midi and Maxi Biofilter requires settled sewage to be removed by tanker. Servicing is recommended every six months and desludging yearly. The system is easy to install and can be ground level if required.
Pump Stations
Allerton provides a wide range of glass reinforced plastic pump stations which are designed to offer reliable, effective and durable raw sewage and dirty water management systems for domestic and commercial applications. The pumping stations work when the level of liquid rises within the chamber, the integral float is activated and the pump pumps the liquid out. When the pump float drops, the pump will automatically turn off. The pump stations come complete with pipework and valves pre-assembled in the tank ready for immediate installation. A vast array of diameters and depths of tanks are available that will satisfy the storage requirements in Part H of the Building Regulations. The systems are low maintenance and require servicing once a year. Options include:
- Raw sewage single and dual pump stations
- High spec raw sewage dual pump stations
- Dirty water single and dual pump stations
- High capacity dual pump stations
Sludge Dewatering
Sludge dewatering involves the removal of water from sludge, which makes it easier and cheaper to dispose of. Allerton provides a wide range of sludge dewatering systems including:
- Teknobag Draimad that produces a dry solids content of 15-30% within a few hours and after two months storage produces of cake 50-95% dry solids
- Monobelt filter press produces a dryer cake than alternative traditional equipment
- Scrudrain enables easy and simple control of the dewatering process by the adjustment of the rotating speed to achieve the optimal dewatering time and sludge thickness
- Scrufilter is specified for many applications such as improving the discharge from sewage and effluent treatment plants, water recovery from industrial processes and filtration of surface water
- Polydilution preparation and dosing equipment has been designed for use with the Allerton range of sludge dewatering equipment. Manual and automatic versions are available with capacities of up to 60 litres per hour
Grease Traps
Allerton offers a range of grease traps for installation underground and these are typically used by restaurants, nursing homes, hotels, pubs, food outlets and food processing factories. The standard units are designed for processing up to 500 meals per day and store liquids for at least one day to ensure that it has cooled and fats and greases are retained. The tanks are emptied by a vacuum tanker and do not require baskets to be removed manually.
Grease Dosing Systems
Grease dosing systems can be installed under a sink and pump a measured amount of fat digesting bacteria into a drain to halt the build-up of grease, oil and fats that cause blockages and odours in drains. Grease dosing systems will also improve the function of a sewage treatment plant.
Inceptors and Separators
Inceptors and separators are installed in situations where oils, chemicals or suspended solids may contaminate surface water drains. The systems are designed to remove the pollutants from the water and allow the clean water to flow into a surface water drain. Bypass separators are specified for low risk sites including car parks and full retention separators are used where there is a very high risk of contamination. Both options are available in two classes; Class 1 achieves a concentration of 5mg/l of oil which can be discharged to a surface water drain, Class 2 achieves a concentration of 100mg/l which can be discharged to a foul sewer.
Rainwater Harvesting
Allerton offers an extensive range of rainwater harvesting systems that collect water, filter it, store it and reuse it for garden irrigation, car washing and can even produce water for washing machines and toilets. Options range from simple water butts to large underground systems for commercial and industrial applications.
Allerton is committed to providing domestic and commercial clients with a vast array of sewage and effluent treatment systems that are manufactured to the highest specification. The company can oversee a project from the initial enquiry through to installation, servicing and general maintenance of the systems. The professional and knowledgeable team will offer comprehensive advice and information across the whole product range, specifying the most appropriate solution to any application. Allerton is approved by the British Board of Agrement.
