Services

The engineers at Allerton Steel have extensive knowledge and experience covering the majority of traditional and modern contracts and services including design and check to category II, in-house manufacture, site surveys and investigations, trained erection teams, full CDM planning and full QA records.

The company’s workshop facility is equipped with innovative and modern machinery that has the capability to lift up to 55 tonnes; equipment includes semi-automatic welding machines, bending machines for plates of up to 3m x 20mm, CNC operated profile burners, drilling and milling machines, punching machines and a 3D modelling and surveying system for complex fabrications and inspections.

Product Categories

Allerton Steel employs skilled engineers who are qualified to BS EN ISO 15614-1:2004, EN 287-1:2004, ASME 9 and EEMUA 158 procedures in MMA, MIG, GSFCAW and Sub-Arc processes. All supervisors and managers have completed the IOSH Managing Safely course to maintain Health, Safety and Welfare within the workplace. Structural Fabrications

Allerton Steel understands the complexities of structural fabrications and has worked on projects such as the manufacture of heavy trusses of up to 30 metres long and weighing around 50 tonnes which are used to support high-rise buildings. The joints within these structures must resist extremely high loads and incorporate a complex arrangement of plates and sections which are completely butt welded.

General Fabrications

General fabrications encompass a wide and varied range of steel products in many forms. The fabrications can be straight, curved, made of section or plate and can be static or moving. Cranes

With extensive experience in crane building, Allerton Steel has the capability to produce overhead, goliath, ship to shore, rubber tyred gantry, pedestal and JIB cranes. The cranes can be manufactured with lifting capacities of up to 500 tonnes and can be constructed using plate girders, box girders, tubular, lattice or any combination these.

Offshore

Offshore fabrications are exposed to some of the harshest environments on earth and must be manufactured to exceptional quality with close tolerances. Plate Girders

Allerton Steel can produce a wide range of plate girders that include basic carcases, complete fit-out and simple fillet welds to full penetration butt welds. Plate thicknesses of up to 100mm are available for webs and flanges. The company has a hydraulic plate girder jig which greatly improves the production efficiencies and profile burners which can re-shape the plates to individual specifications.
