RPG diffuser systems provide cost effective and flexible solutions for a vast array of applications and every product is made to order to individual requirements. There are over 30 products available which can be used alone or in combination with other products. Acoustic GRG has worked in conjunction with RPG for many years to create a range of acoustic products. RPG developed the commercial diffuser system and no other manufacturer provides such in-depth research, training and product development. Fitting Systems
Acoustic GRG offers a range of fitting systems to ensure that the acoustic systems are easily and securely fixed within the desired location. Options include:
- Impalet: Impalet is a quick and easy method of attaching panels to a wall. The pressed metal plate incorporates four triangular protrusions and can be used with Abffusor, Absorber, BAD panel and BAD arc panels.
- Batten Mounts: There is a range of standard wooden batten mounts and aluminium low profile mounts which are suitable for installation with Abffusor, Absorbor, BAD panel, BAD arc, QRD 734 and DFR panels.
- Ceiling Mounts: There is a wide range of ceiling mount options available including L Bar fixed position mounts, Z Bar close mounting heavy duty fixings for large panels and Rotofast Cloud which is an alternative simple fixing method to the traditional pigtail mountings.
Finishes
The acoustic panels can be can be customised to suit individual requirements using a huge variety of finishes including:
- Paint Finishes: Full in-house paint finishing facilities can provide coloured and textured different finishes. All paint finishes can be RAL or BS numbers.
- Wood Finishes: All wood products can be finished in MDF, veneers, melamine, paint and lacquer finishes. All lacquers can be matt, satin or gloss in Class 0 or 1 fire rating.
- Custom Printing: RPG Europe can offer custom digital printing on fabrics up to 1.5m wide and any length up to 3000mm on Absorbor, longer if using RPG Soundtrac.
- Fabric Finishes: The fabric finishes available include Camira Cara which is the standard fabric supplied which is acoustically transparent and carries a BS 476 fire certificate, Camira Lucia fabrics are made from recycled polyester and are available for a small additional fee in a wide range of colours and a new range of suede fabrics for the Cinemusic line of products.

RPG CineMusic Products
The CineMusic range of high performance acoustical products is suitable for home theatre, stereo listening and media room environments. CineMusic packages offer aesthetically pleasing, cost-effective fabric wrapped room solutions utilising RPG technology.
RPG Acoustic Tools
RPG has gained a highly respected reputation with leading acousticians and studio designers and the product range is specified in over a thousand leading-edge music facilities across the world. The key issue in any recording studio is transferability; the ability of a mix to transfer to other listening environments outside the studio. For the mix to faithfully transfer to a wide range of acoustical environments, it must be created in a room with minimal distortion. The four sources of acoustic distortion are modal emphasis, speaker boundary interference, comb filtering and sparse reflection density.
Spatial Tools
Spatial tools uniformly disperse sound arriving from any direction and create a sense of passive surround sound, immersion and envelopment within the soundfield. Products include:
- Diffractal: A diffusing fractal which comprises nested self-similar scaled diffusers, each of which covers a specific frequency range and provides a wide area coverage without lobbing effects.
- Flutterfree: Flutterfree is a furniture grade acoustical hardwood moulding that controls flutter echo by diffusion, maintaining the natural ambience of a room. Non-slotted and slotted versions are available.
- Skyline: Skyline is a 2-D omnidirectional diffusing surface which is ideal for small rooms such as project studios. The solid expanded polystyrene core of Skyline provides a low frequency absorption.
- Skyline LP: Skyline LP offers efficient scattering in situations where wall depth is limited. With a maximum depth of 4inch, the Skyline LP scatters incident sound uniformly, so acoustic glare in all directions is minimalised.
Imaging Tools
Imaging tools absorb reflections from the room’s boundary surfaces which cause comb filtering and corrupt the soundstage, image size and timbre. Products include:
- Abbifusor: Abbifusor is the industry's first absorption phase grating and provides sound diffusion from a series of divided reflective walls of equal and different depths.
- Absorbor: Absorptive panels are generally specified for acoustic designs to control room reflections and reverberation.
Combination Tools
Combination tools will absorb reflections from a room’s boundary surfaces within the low and mid frequency ranges, whilst uniformly scattering sound in the upper mid and high frequency ranges to eliminate the dead space syndrome which many small rooms suffer from. Products include:
- BAD Arc: BAD Arc is the industry's first digital, curved sound diffuser and it comprises absorptive and reflective areas which are optimally placed according to a 2-dimensional binary sequence. This solution offers a high performance hybrid surface with the aesthetic of a traditional fabric wrapped panel.
- BAD Panel: The BAD Panel provides mid and high frequency diffusion and low frequency absorption using a binary template with reflective areas and holes over a semi rigid fibreglass panel.
- Variscreen: Variscreen is a free-standing screen which provides absorption on one side and diffsorption on the other and a variable depth air cavity which is formed by two hinged panels for bass control.
Bass Management Tools
Bass management tools are used to minimise room resonances and speaker boundary interference effects to provide a more uniform room response. Products include:
- Modex Corner and Modex Module: Modex Corner and Modex Module are unique internally damped membrane absorbers that provide ideal absorption in the modal frequency range. Typical applications include recording studios, vocal booths, home theatres, quality control rooms, music practice rooms and film mix and dubbing stages.
- Modex Broadband: Modex Broadband offers significant absorption between 50 and 5000hz in a surface depth of just 4inches.
- Modex Plate: For rooms which suffer from low frequency modal issues, but require mid to high frequency reflection control, the Modex Plate is the perfect solution. The Modex Plate provides significant absorption of 50 to 500hz in a surface depth of 4inches.
Speciality Tools
Speciality tools are available to provide more finish options for the designer and building owner whilst maintaining the level of performance demanded by RPG. Products include:
- Baswaphon: Baswaphon is a field-applied seamless system which offers exceptional absorption, beautiful aesthetics and integral colouring and cleaning possibilities. Typical applications include airports, atriums, cinemas, courtrooms, recording studios, restaurants, homes and classrooms.
- Clearsorber DeAmp: Acousticians and architects require transparent absorbing panels for use over glass, such as in atriums and large glass surface walls. The Clearsorber DeAmp is available in acrylic and virgin or recycled PETG in thicknesses of 2-15mm. Absorption is provided through high viscous losses as air passes through the slots.
- Perforated Wood Panels: RPG Europe offers a range of sound absorbing wood panels which are suitable for auditoriums, offices, hotels, restaurants and conference halls. The range is available in various styles and finishes and all are Class 1 fire rated. A range of slotted wood panels are also available.
Software Tools
RPG offers three software applications to assist clients in designing their rooms. Options include Shape Optimiser which is an acoustical design package for the design and optimisation of room surfaces; Room Optimiser is a program which automatically and simultaneously optimises the SBIR and modal coupling by utilising geometrical image modal predication techniques along with powerful multi-dimensional optimisation to achieve the smoothest and flattest base response in a rectangular room and finally Room Sizer which automatically determines optimal room dimensions in rectangular rooms, providing an absorption coefficient for each surface and a minimum and maximum dimensional range for the length, width and height.

- Green Glue: Green Glue is a high performance visco-elastic damping compound which has been developed to reduce noise transmission through stud walls, floors and ceilings for a wide range of applications. Green Glue provides low and high frequency soundproofing performance.
- Packages: Studio in a box packages offer a cost effective solution for rooms utilising RPG technology. Options include Bronze and Silver Polyflex foam room kits, Gold Polyflex room kits with diffusors, Platinum Polyflex budget foam kits, Bronze and Gold Melaflex melamine foam kits, Silver Melaflex Class 0 foam kits and Platinum Melaflex white acoustic foam kits.
