Established in 2004 Access Needs are specialists in the supply of both portable and semi-permanent access ramps. With many years experience, the company is continuously improving and extending the product range to offer a wide and varied choice of access ramps to private individuals, businesses and service providers throughout the UK.

The Portadown based specialists in road safety and access products, Access Needs, has expanded its already impressive range to include a temporary pedestrian bridge to further help contractors accommodate the public during streetworks in busy shopping and residential areas.

The 2m long bridge comes complete with safety hand rails and is ideal for providing shoppers, office workers and others with convenient access over larger excavations such as in town centre regeneration schemes, pipe and cable laying projects. The pedestrian bridge, together with a new illuminated kerb platform ramp fitted with barrier rails, complements the company's growing product range which also includes trench covers, fence pins, road plates and traffic calming strips to help contractors overcome road safety problems created during streetworks.

Road Safety products in the Access Needs range are all made from composite high strength materials without compromising on quality and can be easily transported, set up or stored away. Although a lot lighter than steel, the products can take plenty of punishment, while their robust design easily meet industry standards.

Products

Access Needs understands that each requirement and product specifications are different. From the initial enquiry, the Access Needs sales team will assess the requirements, offer demonstrations, arrange trials and perform any adaptations to ensure the client receives the most appropriate ramp.

Ramps are suitable for everyday use within entrances, internal applications and exit access points. They are simple to set-up, dismantle and store, providing maximum safety and working loads, whilst offering lightweight portability. Manufactured from lightweight anodised aluminium, carbon fibre or rubber, the range is available to suit all budgets and requirements, allowing for complete freedom and ease of movement.

Roll-A-Ramp

Suitable for temporary home, business and vehicle accessibility, Roll-A-Ramps have been designed to offer freedom and independence for disabled individuals. The fully portable ramps simply fold or roll up for storage and double up as vehicle and building ramps. Roll-A-Ramps feature carry straps, safety kerbs, horizontal anti-slip ridges , and are curved at the top to provide for very gentle access at point of entry/exit. The range includes:

• Single Width Ramps: Single width ramps are suitable for heavy usage in commercial settings and for mobility scooters. A wide range of size options are available ranging from 910 x 760mm to 3960 x 760mm.
• Twin Ramps: Twin ramps are suitable for manual and electric wheelchairs and allow able-bodied people access to the stairs in between. Sizes range from 910 x 300mm to 3960 x 300mm.
• Accessories: A range of accessories for Roll-A-Ramps include; folding trolleys, spacers, quick mount van kit, positive lock pins, mounting brackets, low van entry plates, support stands and handrail kits.

DECPAC Portable Ramp System

DECPAC is a fully portable ramp system which is lightweight and folds away for storage. Suitable for domestic, commercial and travel applications, DECPAC is manufactured from carbon fibre and incorporates a non-slip, weatherproof surface, easy angle foot, top and base pads and has a safe working load of 300kg. A wide range of lengths and widths are available, the range includes:

• EBL Range: This is a folding ramp with side kerbs suitable for home, business and travel, available in sizes from 900 x 820mm to 4000 x 820mm.
• PER700 and MP870: These are folding ramps suitable for one to two steps away from a building access point. The PER700 weighs 4kg and is 700 x 740mm and the MP870 weighs 6kg and is 870 x 830mm
• SEN Range: The SEN range is the same as the EBL range but excludes the side kerbs and has a reduced width of 750mm with lengths from 900mm to 2000mm.
• DDA9085: This is an extra wide folding ramp in bright yellow for high visibility, which is ideal for public transport access such as buses, trains and taxis. Weighing 8.5kg the ramp is 900 x 850mm.

Aluminium Folding Ramps

Options include:

• Channel Car Ramps: Designed for loading powered wheelchairs, the channel car ramps come in two foldable sections for easy storage.
• Scooter Ramps: A full width car ramp that comes in two sections to make one ramp which is lightweight and portable.
• Trio Compact Ramps: A ramp which folds into three sections for easy transportation and storage, suitable for high kerbs and accessing vehicles.
• Travel Ramp: Weighing just 3.2kg, Travel Ramp comes complete with a carrying bag and is ideal for kerbs and building access.
• Overcill Ramp: Used in conjunction with a flat panel or a portable house ramp to bridge door cills, Overcill Ramp has adjustable feet for a perfect fit.
• Bridge Threshold Ramp: Custom-made to suit individual specification, this product will bridge any threshold without the need for other ramps.
• Door Wedge Ramps: A wedge-shaped ramp that allows wheelchairs to run smoothly over a raised threshold and can be used with an Overcill ramp.
• Portable House Ramps: Strong, lightweight and portable, the ramps offer solutions for various locations. There are two designs, one that folds to half its width and the other is one flat panel.

Semi-Permanent Ramps

This semi-permanent ramp range is manufactured in lightweight aluminium panels and is finished with superior quality paint and a non-slip surface. Ideal for domestic, business and vehicle use, this range is suitable for situations where permanent accessibility ramps are not required.
